They look cosy! Unfortunately they tend to be freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer 😂 This setup looks amazing though! You can see a lot of graft has gone in to it.
It is man, I live in a 4bedroom home with a finished attic same style ceiling beams but higher arches perfect acoustic it's the fifth room but it will be converted into a studio.
I love how you point out, rightfully so, how under rated Hughes and Kettner amps are. I’ve been playing them for over 20 years now. I started playing them because Alex Lifeson was using them (as you pointed out). I really love how they cover a lot of different ground. Want a great clean no problem, want to get some break up, easy. You can really push the 4 channel amps with the ultra channel and some boost. Great for screaming metal.
so many gears yet so neatly arranged and nicely clean too. well I guess that defines part of your personality (which is good). I like the way you reply to the comments and inquiries, so modest and unselfish. and lastly loved that black skull above Amari. hahaha. stay safe man.
@@JohnBrownemonumentshahaha. and I was about to say nice amps and guitars (just kidding). ive been trying to watch every posts you've made especially the tutorials and its very helpful for me on trying to progress myself in guitar playing. hoping to see and hear more from you. thanks.
We all know UA-cam isn't always a good return of investment when it comes to time spent. But I'm so glad you're still making content on here as well as Riff Hard! Keep at it man! 🤘
After winter, I’m planning on going house shopping again to look for a place that would have a spare bedroom I could turn into a music studio. That is a really cool setup you have!
Really loving the aesthetic. Used to have an attic bedroom that I also used for a basic studio setup. Only problem was the wooden beams in the ceiling were total murder if I bashed my head into them by accident lol
I’m pretty excited for the Dirty Shirley module video (if you do one). It probably won’t be great for what you do but it’ll be interesting to hear you play through it. What’s your vocal chain usually?
Wow! that is one killer metal setup. didn't know about the Ampete 88s- that helped so much. thanks for showing it! (thought i was going to have to build my own version). really nice usage of a great small space. killer amp selection, obviously.
i know its been done over and over on youtube, but could you maybe run one bouncy riff through all your amps to compare them, and then one riff for each amps best application ? that would be cool as hell :)
To be honest this is by far the most complete studio on the youtube guitar/metal scene/community. It’s even cooler than misha studio! Is unbelievable the amount of high quality gear that you have
The nicest home studio I have yet seen! I love it that it's in the attic. You probably hate this question: if you had chose ONE rig/amp.....which would it be?
One day i hope my lil makeshift home studio could just look and have half of this!!! Theirs is awesome!!! Kinda intimidating to get digital and non digital to work together.
25:01 hahahahahahaha :D what are all those preamps used for in recording (im not a recording guy just curious)? Is every on of them for different purpose or were these upgrades from the predecessor and you are using only newest one ? I found out about Hughes & Kettner when reading up on niche band Spiral Architect...your sound live when you were in Leeds was the best ad for the brand. Awesome space, best of everything to you and yours have a good one mate :)
*QUESTION:* John, I want to put my Boss TAE in the rack like you've done, but am afraid of making the rear inputs/outputs/controls less accessible. What's your solution for this?
Have you ever tried the Zentera ? Another cool amp from Hughes & Kettner, but less on the metal side, even if the triple rectifier model sounds great. It's a very different amp because it doesn't sound "Hughes & kettner" since it's based on emulations, but nice to try, and it has built in stereo effects and a stereo power amp. Was really impressed by the amp recording out, a bit less in rehearsal configuration, almost prefered the triamp / warp x models. The Marshall JTM and the Blackface emulations are awesome BTW.
John Browne yeah, I’ve seen the videos where he demonstrate the combo. Unfortunately I had to sold my H&K amps to get back money. I miss my warp x, and the triamp mkii !
@@JohnBrownemonuments I remember the 1996 adverts for James Munky Shaffer running H and K. That being said they also had Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifiers as backup and would bounce between them in studios from all the stuff I read during the 90s.
Do you still use the POD XT for anything? Demos maybe? I find that some the amp models still sound pretty decent, they have a certain tonal quality to them that's surprisingly difficult to get on a lot of real amps. Idk, its hard to describe, maybe you know what I mean. And what was the extent of it's use on the 2nd Monuments album? I'm curious!
I had asked if you had a studio tour video, and you let me know it was coming the following day. Here I am a week later and I’ve watched more than 5 times now just to comprehend everything. Did you go to any mixing or audio type school?
Sorry if anyone has asked this earlier. What kind of spec computer are you running John? Also do you run the streaming software on your computer at the same time as running cubase etc
Do you have any sort of insurance on gazillion dollars worth of gear in the studio? Not even sure whether that's a thing but - on a much much smaller scale - I was willing to look into for my guitar toys.
Something about an attic that has such a cosy vibe! 😍 Lovely room Browne!!!

What a spot! Super jelly dude, I want my spot to have such immense vibes
Gear Gods thanks mate!
"I hope you all have a similar room."
Yeah.. Sure

I think we'd all love a writing master class from you, at the moment the only one out there is from a clinic you did!

This room is very similar to Rabea's. I love the way both of them are laid out with the windows on the ceiling. Cool video man!

Honestly man your studio is what I want to have someday. Love the videos!
Do a full guitar tour please
I bet you had fun moving everything upstairs, especially that Mesa cab 😅
The mesa cab was a walk in the park in comparison to the fucking sofa bed.
Yes! Have the MSP5s as well and I agree, they have a bigger mid-range range(?) than the NS10s.
so cozy
Oh my god someone who loves Ion Dissonance the way I do. They are a fuckin huge part of the way I play guitar man.

would love to see you both collaborate.hope both of you are well .
The chimpsan man seems to be teaching , and making music with Daniel Tompkins , singer in tesseract .
realising how much I watch this when im just like wow I know all this kit inside out somehow 😂

Man I don't even know what half this shit is but I love watching these videos.
Love the frequent uploads lately
Also, Josh Rand of Stone Sour uses Hughes & Kettner!
Amazing man! Cant imagine how much all that cost!
I love guitar, metal, and Overwatch and had no idea you guys had music on something they put out! I’d love more information on that
I would love to know what you do with your Pod XT Pro! Your studio is amazing!
That Driftwood! Such a nice head!

Damn, this looks sick. I can’t wait to hear the new ear joy from this studio in the near future. Good on ya man. Keep it up.
Nice tour! Keep the kool riffs coming on so that I can learn 🤘🤘

could be cool a video about preamps
nice rig!
Rabea Massaad's got a similar attic-studio!
Dude! I'm so stock with Hughes&kettner brand. And Mayones... My fav guitars! Cheez, you're so blessed John! Salute from Mexico.
Awesome. Have you made a video on the Laboga yet?
Kevin Berstler yes sir, check the architects cover!
John Browne dope! I’ll check it out. Thanks.
Dude that would be like walking in heaven! Nice very nice! Hard work pays off and your killing it 🤘
Awesome Studio! Where is your line 6 helix? 🤔
At the rehearsal space!
Could you make a video about how to use your helix with the hughes & kettner black spirit?
Tell us more about those amazing tracks you used in this video.
Ukasz flux Conduct - Yetzer hara | track 5 onwards!
Thanks for your video! What studio desk do you have. I may purchase the same desk. You've got a link?
Dang, really wish this guy had some more fantastic aggressive amplifiers
Alex Brodie i know right, he should really step it up in that particular department
Probably not the most expensive bit of gear you have but a video on the Klark Teknik Compressor would be good. Was thinking of getting one 😎
TK672 already up! Check previous videos

Each has a unique tonal character which can be used musically when recording.
I came here to ask where you got that carpet with the triangles? It's sick!
One of the sweetest rooms I've ever seen- I'm getting inspired, just lookin' at it..heh -Stay cool du-
Awesome set up man. How are you getting these killer deals on gear?
*QUESTION:* John, I want to put my Boss TAE in the rack like you've done, but am afraid of making the rear inputs/outputs/controls less accessible. What's your solution for this?
D O ah I just have it output to the cab with one output via XLR. The ampete switcher means I don’t have to go back there at all!

David Poiraudeau that particular amp was designed by Thomas Blug, who used to work for H&K!

I would mass buy canned food and stay in that room for like an entire year. Self isolation done right
Could you please cover how you did the acoustic treatment for the room?
I did! 4 pieces of wood, some rockwool and some fabric!
@@JohnBrownemonuments thank you 😀must have missed that video.
What is the first song in the background? Thnx
Jeff Waters uses Hughes and Kettner too! AAAAAAAAND so do I lol

hey um john what tuning did you use for the schecter demo you did yesterday at 6:51......???
?It's all in variations of DADGAD
Where’s the zoom pedal into the hitachi tv setup man? Seriously though, killer studio!!
Спасибо !!!! Очень интересно , шикарно!!!! Творческих успехов !!!!! Ждем новые видео, круто !!!!!!

Looks pretty cramped, can you stand in there.. nice amp collecton
*I had no idea Rabea Massad also had an attic studio.*
Big fan of Hughes & Kettner. Stupidly sold my Trilogy head a few years back and regretted it ever since.
Im so jealous 😍
This was the first time in my life that I saw a playground where you work seriously ...
Sooo much gear

Omg how this studio cost)...Its 1m dolars)?
Hey thicko newbie to home recording here.... My question is can all the amps be connected and used at same time?
sick background music \m/
This is so sick
You should do a video on your antelope audio gear because i hear nothing but bad stuff about there products and I'm afraid to invest my money into it
0:20 I hope this will be on the next Monuments record :D
