Del Amitri is almost like the definition of an underrated band. So many great songs, lyrics and melodies over the years. And Justin is just absolute nails as frontman/lead singer. And even tho I’m old and have 60 years of staunch heterosexuality behind me, I’m not afraid to say he is a good looking dude!
I ADORE Justin Currie & Del Amitri ! This is an amazing performance with the famous Paul Shaffer Band! Glad I stumbled on this gem! Justin Currie please come back to Texas! We miss you!!
Am UK based and have travelled the country watching this terrific band. I'm close on 60 yrs old and my 26 yr old daughter comes with me..absolutely knows every word to every song. So underrated, terrific lyrics, melodies....the complete package.
I never tire of this vid. Watched it multiple times. I miss Letterman and the great band with Paul, Sid, Anton, and the solid Will Lee playing bass for Justin here and nailing it. The Dels were so good and this performance is great. Justin Currie wrote some amazing songs over the years, and this one is a favorite. The power pop vibe, the hooks, the lyrical twist at the end., just a great tune - everything you could want. This vid makes me acutely aware of how much time has passed since this aired and how we need to appreciate that which is special before it’s gone.
@@ltdanu SO FUNNY-Iknow these two band personnnallly-LIVED IN TEMPE AZ for many years(fron liverpoooool uk)-crossed paths with the del boyzz many tmes -lol timothy
The rythem is really good, I listened to this song a long time ago, it brings back memories of my high school days. Thanks for sharing this. God bless.
God it was such a better time, I miss it so, good music, no war no pan damn eck. Thank you Lord for at least sending me down before the world went to hell.
I must have been under that same rock. Sorry I didn't notice you there. Yeah, great band right? I heard them in a grocery store and assumed it was a new song.
Not only that, it was for theft prevention. They thought that the CDs would be ripped off otherwise. Eventually they got rid of the "long boxes" when too many people complained that they were wasting paper. They were mostly filled with air.@@drillbittaylor9136
I'm happy to see others picked up on that. CD longboxes were considered wasteful packaging and the industry discontinued them in April 1993, if I remember correctly. I used to cut off the front of the longboxes and "tiled" my doors & walls with them in high school & college.
It is packaging that cds used to come in to protect them . The packaging had the artwork & songs listed on the back! Sadly we would rip open and throw in the trash.

Great live performance. No lip-synching, no faked studio version of the song they're just playing along with, just pure musical ambrosia.
Del amitri ang justin currie is a well hidden underrated gem, and kudos to letterman, who had great taste in bringing good music to his shows,,,

Back again...World's back to normal,is. Happy days again. Still love this song.
Twisted is one of the all time great CDs.
In my top 10 most favorite albums and it was Driving with the break's on, that tuned me into them in the first place. I still have my original c.d.🎉
I was 18 and passed my driving test listening to this! I’m 50 now. Christ, I can see now why I fancied the pants off this man lol…

Such an amazing band!
will lee. one of the best bass players in the world
It's really sad that these underrated bands are pretty much unrecognized anymore, just like my favorite band, Fountains of Wayne!
Their song “Roll To Me” is still on heavy rotation on most 80’s, 90’s radio stations. One of the more recognizable songs to this day.
RIP Adam S.
@@mattcarey861 yeah, I remember that one.
I must have been under some F****** rock. Just found them.
I must have been under that same rock. Sorry I didn't notice you there. Yeah, great band right? I heard them in a grocery store and assumed it was a new song.
Such a great song!
2018... 44 years old... and this still the one song that makes me feel sad and happy at the same time.
2020 July 9 and same feeling
@Rick Stone bullshit-Rittenhouse had just shot someone before running--look it up

Favorite line “though we share the same city and feel the same sun when your winter comes I’ll be the last to know”
To be fair, most of their songs do that.
The dels were under rated with their pop hooks and sometimes dreary lyrics by Justin. But oh those hooks.
I like these guys.....and this song...
Letterman was a fan as was Jerry seinfeld
We went. Great !
2019 & Letterman on The Late Show..
Great performance
Best band of the last 50 years, no doubt about that
You not heard of Jedward?
Awesome guys
Great!
Listen 🎧 in 2021
Hold the phone did they say Demetrius from Russia?
Brilliant
What is that packet Letterman holds up at the start - it's not a CD?
Yes, it’s a CD, but it’s in a “long box”. They were the same height as a record, so the stores could keep them both in the same bin.

will lee
THANK YOU! 😊👍
Will Lee from Letterman band
😮m.
One of the underrated band of their times.sad.so sad.80,s 90,s were full of with rubbish bands.
Such as culture club.
Killer
terribhle attempt to make Justin C a "front man vocalist" ..raher than have his bass strapped on.... FAIL FAIL
Only Dave Letterman's ASSHOLENESS could pre-roll such an EXCELLENT band.
Song fucking sucks. I hear it all the time at work. It's so whack.
its good troll
