She wrote and produced music that gave the church the "Ok" to get a little funky and riff up a song. The gospel 🌎 need to honor her like crazy. For my concert I put together a video of Twinke and the fam and played it before I came on. I wish them more of the best!!!
I agree. I was going to give some personal insight on some of the recordings which were given to me from those that know them personally and from their actually family. Especially on the parts they sing that others mistakenly give the wrong credit. But Twinkie is an amazing woman and should be celebrated without redirection from her deserved attention! Like her mom, she is a true gem! Dorinda may have been coined The Rose of Gospel due to her amazing beauty, but Twinkie is the Rose of Gospel due to her beautiful spirit! She had blessed so many and loves to teach others her gifts. It brings me joy to see her smile. It truly lights up the room! God Bless you guys!

I didn't know Twinkie was this incredible, my God!! She deserves so much more respect in the Gospel industry and definitely in the Clark Sister Biopic. Wow, they made her look badly, and now that I've seen this, I'm praying they get their act together (3 amigos) and LOVE Denise, and Respect Twinkie more than they depicted them.
Trust she is well respected and regarding the gospel industry. The world may not have known but those in Gospel or Music in general know about Dr. Twinkie! She changed the way gospel is today! truly the OG of creative and original Gospel sound.

The Clarks are so essential to black music. Twinkie is on another level. I need to really study her voice. She has to be an assoluta. Her voice can do anything and I hear a lot of similarities to Rachelle and Jean Carne. That organ playing is like Stevie Wonder good. God bless her and keep her.

Actually that makes a lot of sense with her voice if you think about it, she has power in every part of her range and has shown skill similar to the great Maria callas while being more inventive within her own right of musicianship that sets her apart from the rest
I'm so glad that someone notices that she sings lead, bottom, and plays organ on almost every song. She's the reason why Auntie Doe and Karen are vocal beast today. She sings bottom on EVERY SONG if she's not leading.

Karen stated that she always wanted to sing like Twinkie. Karen obviously learned from her big sister. They are both exceptional singers.
Without Twinkie, no Jacky, no Denise, no Dorinda, no Karen. Without Twinkie, there wouldn't be a Clark Sisters. And all four of them admitted so. Karen called her THE Clark Sisters.

Twinkie Clark is my favorite, although I used to sing Dorinda’s parts with my children. She is phenomenal and I’m happy to say I had the pleasure of singing with her in a workshop concert in York PA some years ago. I know as times change we must move on but not from Christianity; she seems to be the exact person she was when I met her back in the ‘80’s. I love you, Elbernita ‘Twinkie’ Clark and blessings for many more years of delivering the word in song!

You can tell Stevie Wonder influenced her musically but definitely vocally the way he sings is the way she sings especially the growls. Twinkie also has that same ear for music. They were both child prodigies. I love her she’s my favorite Clark sister.

I remember the day that impromptu duet between her and James Moore original aired on Bobby Jones. That was a moment in my life I will never forget because James Moore was already killing it and Twinkie answered his call for help but nobody knew it was gonna be her!
They grew up together. James Moore to me is one of the best male voices in music ever. He sang in Dr. Mattie Moss Clark's choirs back in the day. You can see him on here in videos.

what i LOVE about this tribute is that it shows us the arrogant, cocky, confident, playful, skillful, flashiness that was always Twinkie. This woman got DOWN. I mean, no apologies for her growling, and scatting and fusing secular sounds with gospel as she knew it and creating an iconic shift in black music. When I think of Stevie Wonder & Michael Jackson, and Alice Coltrane- I think of Twinkie Clark. A legend! A genius! An undisputed, BEAST. This woman is your favorite musician's favorite musician! Twinkie, thank you for not "staying in your place" as a woman. Thank you for taking the criticism you took to push the envelope. Im kinda bummed you didn't show her run from the finally karen album on jesus is a love song but this video is amazing. Im a 14 year old drummer and singer and I've been studying a lot of music across all genres (TCS, Kim Burrell, Fred Hammond, Lalah Hathway, Jazmine Sullivan, etc) and immediately fell in love twinkie. I mean i really like all of them but to me twinkie is on another level.
