First, can you believe it, almost 50 thousands subs. Excellent my friend !!! The calves are looking great and those pigs are fat and sassy!!! Keep up the good work. Peace from SW Florida 🤗🤗🤗!!!
From the tight curly tails I'd say your pigs are happy and healthy. Seems like a lot of calves for only a quarter done. Maybe I have a bad memory. The white face calves are so cute. Good video. Pax.
As always its great seeing your video and the progress on your farm. Looks like it a busy spot and keeping you on your toes, the calves look healthy and so do the pigs. love you mate, such an animal lover. keep the vid coming. Can't wait to see your next video. Stay healthy, Hugs
more gr8 work! all of your calves look really terrific, &nice that the ladies seem to be dropping them by themselves withOut your assistance! pigs are looking good too... xOxOx
Looks like the Virgin Bull learned really fast. Lol. The pigs are growing so fast, they eat like they never ate, in their lives. Would be nice If they slowed down, for the video.
Nope. We check them twice a day so if a cow is trying to give birth close to the water we can drive her away from it. The only time we worry about the calves/pond is when the pond is frozen. We have had calves slide out onto the ice and we had to rope them and pull them to land.
I just like the look of them and the sale barn buyers want them to all match. So I’d prefer solid blacks and baldies or all baldies. The red white faces don’t sell well and will bring the entire groups price down if they are mixed in.
Do the babies get killed for food? Or do they get to grow up before that happens? I just watched a dairy farmer video and Im just curious because they said they sell them to get raised for beef...Ive heard different stories about male calves so thought Id ask an actual farmer or anyone that knows? Thanks!
These babies will live here on the farm for about 1 full year. Then we will sell them to a buyer that will then feed them out for 6-12 more months and then they will be butchered. So, yes, they will technically be adults when harvested. The baby calf stories you are probably referring to is the veal market. They take baby bull calves off dairy cows and harvest them after a few months. The practice of raising calves for veal used to be more common than it is now. I’ve never met anyone that actually was in the veal business. It doesn’t sit right with most people, including myself. Hope that answered your question!
@@FarmandHammer Yes! Thank you for your honest answer. I hope they get rid of veal overall. That is plain cruel and not necessary. I cant believe it. You seem to treat the cows well thanks for your videos. People that live in the city like me dont get to see this stuff.
I try and make sure every animal on my farm enjoys their time here. Sure there are a few stressful days for them once or twice a year but we try and keep those to a minimum. I think if we are going to produce animals for food, the least we can do is give them a life worth living while they are here. I encourage everyone to research where there food comes from. Some people may not even know what things like veal are, but it helps to know so you aren’t supporting farming practices you don’t agree with. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to holler!
It’s good that you allow your animals a bit of enjoyment in their lives. If I was a pig, I would consider coming to live with you.

All have made it so far! 🤞
Any lowline crosses on the ground yet I’m curious to see them
They won’t be born until fall. I’m excited to see them too!
How many fall calving cows do you guys have?
How much acres do you have total and how much would it cost if i wanted to buy that much land
Do you not worry about calving beside the pond.

May I ask why do you prefer white face calves???
