- Announcing the Genesis project - after a 24-month large-scale research collaboration involving over 20 research labs - a generative physics engine able to generate 4D dynamical worlds powered by a physics simulation platform designed for general-purpose robotics and physical AI applications.
Genesis's physics engine is developed in pure Python, while being 10-80x faster than existing GPU-accelerated stacks like Isaac Gym and MJX. It delivers a simulation speed ~430,000 faster than in real-time, and takes only 26 seconds to train a robotic locomotion policy transferrable to the real world on a single RTX4090 (see tutorial: genesis-world.....
The Genesis physics engine and simulation platform is fully open source at github.com/Gen.... We'll gradually roll out access to our generative framework in the near future.
Genesis implements a unified simulation framework all from scratch, integrating a wide spectrum of state-of-the-art physics solvers, allowing simulation of the whole physical world in a virtual realm with the highest realism.
We aim to build a universal data engine that leverages an upper-level generative framework to autonomously create physical worlds, together with various modes of data, including environments, camera motions, robotic task proposals, reward functions, robot policies, character motions, fully interactive 3D scenes, open-world articulated assets, and more, aiming towards fully automated data generation for robotics, physical AI and other applications.

Bravo! Great demo reel
how to install it locally .... please do that demo
How much Heineken paid for this vid? 😂

@@danielpikl It is INCREDIBLE what got achieved. I am still in awe. Congratz, this video deserves much more views than it got!
how can we use it?
2:53 omg he throwin it back
That's awsome. When are you going to release the text-to-model ability?
We waiting
Has anyone managed to install and test it out yet? I'm having some issues on Ubuntu 22 with the installation
what sorta issues?
@@lafeo0077 After the installation of the pycollada module, I get an error output of 42 lines. The last line says "TypeError: canonicalize_version() got an unexpected keyword argument 'strip_trailing_zero'". Seems like some sort of incompatibility with the function
@@ephsonguakro4583 okay im installing this today let me try hoping
@@ephsonguakro4583 I have just started installing
I am on macos and could run the hello world script, but the visualisation doesn‘t work yet.
How can I give this software a go? I see the generative part of this that you demonstrated in the video is not available to the public yet. I think I would be a great candidate to test it in my workflow!
Last step!!!! Let's go!!!! 🥳🎉
Overall i'm impressed
This is insane.
The video is misleading: the source code shown in 2:10 and 2:25 is *fake* - there is no such function as gs.generate() in this project!
>>> import genesis as gs
(...)
>>> scene = gs.generate("A potted plant sits on a wooden table.")

Very awesome. 👏🏻
Okay so I've been doing one form of physical simulation or another for about 30 years and I'm not gonna lie.
I'm salivating. Literally.
Didn't even hear the bell. XD
What makes this special, the speed? Or the integration of the prompting? I'm still wrapping my head around why this is blowing people away (beyond the well made hype video)
0:16 that droplet has too much surface tension.
Now back to watching
0:36 yea, all of them do that
"It took us in new directions. Things we'd never thought.." - Myles Dyson (Terminator 2)
Movie: Terminator Genisys (2015) ==> Time dilation event 2015 - 2036. AND NOW: Genesis Project - Transferable A.I. Robot mobility to legions of robots.
Now they need a biology 🧬 engine so can make realistic 🦖 dinosaurs 🦕
So exciting 😶🌫
Is this for real ?
Yes. It’s actually real
Sooo just a re upload of their video then?
Meta verse here we come
interesting
brooooo what
Wow
😳😲
