Thank you for the video! Love that you mentioned there's no specific "Muslim food".. I was actually looking for halal street food in Vietnam, but this is also good to know - can always go around the mosque area 😅
Vietnamese people do eat curry. The most popular is the ca ri ga (chicken curry, but different looking than what you had). We love dipping baguette in our curry, but some people do eat it with rice or maybe even noodles, I think. My dad made a bun bo (noodle bowl) that's made of stir fried curried beef. I'm sure there are a few other dishes that use curry, but I cannot think of them right now. Indian types of curry isn't as prevalent there, for sure. I just know the chicken curry soup and the beef curry noodle bowl were very common in my childhood. BTW, don't say bun say boo-oon. :)
@@TalesFromTheRoad And keep in mind that the t and th sounds are switched from English. Not sure why the French whom Romanize the alphabet didn't make it exactly like it would be pronounced in English. Weirdos.
@Lanla Colan Am not familiar with the 5 spices curry (you mean Chinese 5 spice?). But the Vietnamese frog curry or any Vietnamese curry with lemongrass is amazing.
Great video man... I wonder if people were closed just for a long eid... Here in Morocco it's about 3 days before everyone is back. Also Pierce my man, love the glasses!!
Nice vid. I just want to add up some commentary for your future presentation. :) 1. It doesn't hurt to dig up a few bits about historical aspect of places we were presenting. Historically, (by record) Vietnam is starting with Funan, Chenla, Champa then Vietnam. Due to ancient culture "practiced" since before BC, The "government that control/empire/dynasty" come & go till present day. 2. Champa is known to be Malay - by face recognition & language. They are becoming Muslim (the are hindu before this period) after the rush in the Malay Archipelago from Arabs Merchant through Spice Route & Silk Route as early as 700AD. So saying that Muslim in Vietnam is an immigrant or somebody who is just (sort of recently) coming to the area is somewhat misleading. 3. While waiting for Anas, u had a few bits about Masjid which is very good. If u can differentiate the design, its mean u know alot i think. 4. I think Anas is just simplified the term HALAL. He just do not want u to be confused. 5. If u r still in vietnam, maybe u can check out the Muslim area on the south of vietnam.. good job. pls make more good vid.
Imam bayıldı doesnt mean sleeping Imam. It means “The Imam fainted / got unconscious”. Bayilmak (verb) has two meanings in turkish. 1) getting unconscious 2) loving something. as in: I loved it so much it made me faint. (E.g. bayiliyorum. Can be used as a compliment if something is very delicious)
1:09 ‘anas himself isnt the most muslimy muslim’ 🤣 ur introduction segment cracked me up lol because you were right about the ‘muslim mosque’ being a pretty uncreative name hahaha

@@TalesFromTheRoad certainly was enjoyable
I like all the mosques in HCM.I hv been visiting Vietnam for the past 11 years.
Asalamualkum I am from India
As salam Anaz.I am from Malaysia
you should do more research about the topic before presenting
Stick to food vlogging,
Talking about any religion without basic knowledge of that religion is never a good idea.
That was not Halal curry my friend. Ca Ri An Do = Indian Curry. (An Do = Indian)
It was halal as it was in a mosque
U should visit muslim country
