Yes they are extremely talented. Ayasa (violinist) is fantastic to watch. Gotta love Wakazaemon. A southpaw bassist, who is incredibly talented..& just too make it better, she's beautiful.... as they all are. Instrumentation and vocals are fantastic. I've said it before, the talent level in Japan is so incredibly deep.

Yep, this song is fire! 🔥🤘🏻
I wouldn't necessarily say they're like a new band, as they already hit the scene pretty much full throttle with their debut last year 'Evolve (Extended Version)' [A must-check out, if I may say so] and proved their talent. But assuming that 'This Moment' was your first and only song so far from EoE, which is anything but bad btw, I agree. :) Every single one of them can prove more of what they have to offer in songs like this one. And they do that impressively imho! Oh, and bassist Wakazaemon is not new, but definitely a beast if she's allowed to be. :)
By the way, there are a few connections between EoE, Band-Maid and Lovebites. Asami (LB) and Ayasa (violin, founder & producer of EoE) seem to know each other well. Asami posted a picture on X just a few months ago showing the two of them together in a restaurant. And Akane (EoE, vocals) should be very well known to Kanami and Akane from Band-Maid, as the three of them were part of a 5-person group called 'Mochi To Cheese' several years ago... The Japanese music world seems to be like a small village where everyone knows each other somehow. 🤭
EDIT: Dammit, i almost forgot: Congratulations on the 10k Subs! 🎉🤘🏻

Japan is setting the bar in the music world. Not just the rock and metal. Japanese pop, jazz, and classical music are all on another level.

I like how Japanese musicians make complex and hard things look simple. EoE is a new high in that trend - at least for me.

No surprise the bassline absolutely stomps. Wakazaemon's not Marty Friedman's "first call" bassist when he's putting a touring band together for nothin'!
for me, EoE is right up there with the top-tier bands you list, too...although I also considered them to be such after "Evolve," which I think remains my favorite of theirs (but by a hair's breadth at this point!). Legit supergroup...

A lot of these Japanese bands know each other and watch each other. In the past year, we've seen, for example, Lovebites, Band-Maid and Nemophila all going to each others' shows. I think they are pushing each other to continue improving and experimenting. Every member of EoE plays in other bands as well, so there is no standing still for any of them. You can feel that energy in everything they do.

Honestly, you really should go back to the first track EoE released and start there" Evolve (Extended Version)" (ua-cam.com/video/gL2GQWhJaNQ/v-deo.htmlsi=bQyIw3-WX_XRWRYw) and then decide if they have leveled up, because that song set a very high bar. It is phenomenal - perhaps song of the year 2023! Then "Hanabi". I know you did "This Moment", but I think that song stands up. But Wakazaemon on bass is a true superstar - the tapping bass line she uses here is genius and works perfectly. Her energy is infectious. And Mizuki on drums is another secret weapon. Of course Ayasa and Yuki on violin and guitar are both masters, and blend together so well - I just wish they had a longer solo section in this track! Finally Akane on vocals is the magic sauce that shines out front - I think she sings with her arms! Watch her - so expressive, and instantly recognizable. A powerhouse band. Their live BluRay of their first live show is exceptional! This track is excellent though - and it has a nasty habit of getting better, the more you listen to it! 🤘🎸🐺

If you go back to Evolve extended version you’ll hear that Wakazaemon, the bassist, is a beast. Her parts were a bit toned down in videos after that but she is getting to shine in this song.
She and Fami should do a fun “bass off!”
The apple in the beginning is interesting because in their recent video “Judgement Syndrome” there were apples also.
I don’t think any of us mind having the video full screen because not only are these ladies incredible musicians they are beautiful too. 😊
A little thing to like is how Ayasa flips her bow around after her duet with Yuki.

The drummer, Mizuki, is also in Lonesome Blue, a band you ought to check out. I think "Beginning Of The End" is a very cool song, "Face the Fear" is great, and "Parallell World" features Ayasa and her violin.

All 5 are original members , just formed last year. Wakazaemon is the bassist. Excellent song. My favorite of theirs is still their first song, Evolve (extended version, which dropped last August. If you haven't seen that , please check it out.
You wanted more J-rock/metal suggestions. How about K-rock too? Rolling Quartz from South Korea. If you haven't heard them, their most popular video is for "Fearless", the newest (dropped 3 days ago) is for "Red Wine".

My reaction to "Red Wine" is scheduled to drop tomorrow. I may have to check out "Fearless". "Red Wine" was a nice song, but a bit too poppy for me.

They are well known in this music world. Wakazaemon is also a bassist in the Martin Friedman band. MIZUKI of Drums is also a drummer for Lonesome_Blue and a support drummer for many musicians. Yuki of guitar is also a guitarist for instrumental band D_Drive. Violin's Ayasa is also an animated voice actor, plays the role of a band violinist in the animation, and also supports manymusicians. Vocalist Akane has previously worked in a band with BAND-MAID's AKANE and KANAMI. And She was also the main vocalist of the group Predia. They can play anything from pops to metal.

GR8 reaction!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE LADIES ❤. Wakazaemon, the bassist, is my favorite, though Mizuki on drums 🥁 is a THUNDER GODDESS!!!! I'm not sure, but I don't believe you have reacted to East of Edens 1st single Evolve the extended version. If not, you really should check it out. I will say that Evolve used to be my favorite from them but Cross Roads has taken over 1st place. The more I listen to it the more I hear!!!!

Same band, same line-up but I suppose you didn't watch one of their best songs first (so I suppose it wasn't Evolve). This one is one of my favorite and yes WAKAZAEMON is a bass monster (... a very cute monster). Extremely versatile, she's one of the grooviest bass players around, but she's also Marty Friedman's tour and studio bassist (Marty has a huge status in Japan, he could choose any of the THOUSANDS of amazing bassists in Japan ... and he chose her - nuff said).

Speaking of great bass lines, you have to react to another all-female group from Japan called NEK! (stylized from Neki, pronounced "neck-ee). They're a very promising new band consists of 4 young female members. Try their debut song, 'Get Over', that has won the love and attention from all Japanese music lovers. You won't be disappointed.
