The shape you are in for your age is inspiring. Im only 34yo and I cant even jog one mile. I think im going to start trying to oractice I use to love running when I was younger.
Thanks, John!...You have so much in the tank at your age. All it's going to take is to get started again. Go easy and increase slowly. Before you know it, you'll be back into it. Good luck, and reach out if you need any advice on how to get started.
Greetings from Poland. Thanks to You, I bought brooks glycerin gts 20. I am a heavy runner, 100kg ~220 lbs, got transverse flat feet, maybe overpronate a little and these shoes are perfect for me. First run was so good, no hot points. Everything is as you said. Thank You, Old Man Van!
Do you do track workouts? If so, Hyperion GTS might be something you might be interested in trying out sometime. I know you like Hyperion Tempo and Hyperion Max so maybe a low stack light stability shoe might suit your rotation for speed interval workouts, more than Hyperion Max. Also, the new Hyperion Elite 4 is looking pretty interesting. Probably one of the more stable racing options in the market. It has DNA Flash 2 and a new plate design that is more in line with the firmness of the foam.
Hey Tolunay! 👋 I definitely do track workouts. The Hyperion GTS would be an excellent option for the track, but I still have the original Hyperion Tempo in my stable. As for the Elite 4, I won't likely purchase it as I just ordered the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 as my Boston Marathon shoe.
@@oldmanvanrunning Endorphin Pro 4 looks great, it is an exciting new iteration. I will be looking forward to your review. I have two pairs of Endorphin Pro 3. I have ran a HM race in one and other pair is new in box waiting to get into the rotation sometime. I figured at 40% discount, it is more than fair deal even if the outsole is not as durable as I would like (yeah, shoe goo comes to rescue). However, I will be running my next marathon (March 2nd) in Adidas Prime X Strung (OG). This is one of the least stable shoes but while I am flat footish I generally run in neural shoes and despite the instability, the efficiency and running economy gains the shoe provides for someone like me (middle of the pack, aging masters runner) is above and beyond anything I have tried among supershoes. I have done 20 mile runs in my pair so I guess I can go another 6 miles 🤞
Hi Erin! 👋I haven't tried the Wave Inspire specifically due to its heel to toe drop. 12 mm is way too much for me. 10 mm is now my maximum, and even that feels too much. I currently prefer a 5 - 8 mm drop which balances the stress in my legs and fosters better form in my opinion.
Just my opinion here, I loved the Kayano when I first got them, I reach for them less and less now. =( After wearing the Superblast, it's hard to go back to them.
@@carminemg Thanks for your comment. I have never tried the Superblast. I really need the control and cushioning of the Kayano and have used them for years.
For this training block, Cathy. As I'm testing new shoes, the Gel-Kayano is on the back-burner. As you know, I have a love-hate relationship with them. We'll see what happens when the Gel-Kayano 31 comes out.
@@oldmanvanrunningI wear the kayano and NB 860. I’d love to try the Superblast but in Canada I can’t return them once worn if they aren’t stable enough.
@@oldmanvanrunning Bill, yes, I know, you had 'hot spots' in the Kayano but you did like the stability. I'm a very slow runner compared to you, so I don't go fast enough to have enough friction and movement inside the show to have a hot spot issue, so they work for me. Thank you for your reply.
You know how every once in awhile there is a story on the news about some old woman having hundreds of cats that she is hoarding? Are you starting to become a running-shoe hoarder instead of hoarding live cats?????

Greetings back at you! You are very welcome, my friend! Thanks for checking in! 👍...Glad the GTS 20 is working out for you. It's a great shoe!
Hey OMV! I've never been good about rotating my shoes through my training. Videos like this help point me in the right direction with recommendations.
Hey, Raylene! Glad the video is helpful!

great rotation!, would you consider to use saucony tempus instead of Brooks hyperion max ?
Hey Jorge! 👋 Thanks for the question! 👍...The Tempus would be an excellent alternative to the Hyperion Max.
