The most broken edge guarder is Lucas. Pk thunder alone clears like half of the casts’ recoveries.
nah, ness is objectively better. ness has a better pk fire, a better psi magnet, and both these moves lead into eachother or into bair. ness also has down smash and up smash, he also has pk thunder, if the opponet gets to stage he can get back and back throw. Lucas's pk freeze is slightly better then flash, and his pk thunder is better, but ness haa far more and better options.
I'm trying to get better with Marth, and my favorite part is definitely edgeguarding. It's probably even better with Lucina!

I think the problem with Lucina is that she has the same moves as Marth, so preference really boils down to whether or not you want to deal with Tipper/Sour spots. And picking Lucina sometimes feels like admitting you can't play Marth lol. Roy and Chrom have different recovery moves in addition to the sweet/sour spot changes, so they feel like they have a little more reason to exist as seperate characters, even if Chrom's recovery change makes him basically unplayable lol
Well, as a Lucina main, I can definitely tell you that the last time I talked about how I dislike playing Marth in comparison to her (because 1. the satisfaction of landing some of his tippers - mainly those who end stocks - doesn't compensate for how horrendous landing his sour spots feels to me, and 2. because he is counterintuitive in my eyes : he's fast and he has good movement and frame data, but he has to carefully space his tippers, making him inherently weird and less aggressive than Lucina), I got called a masher who can't play him. I wanted to answer those who accused me of being that at first (I played Marth for about a year so I have few issues with landing tippers), but then I figured I should not waste my time arguing with people who are too fast for wisdom to catch.
In my opinion, if you can play Lucina, then you can play Marth (same with Chrom and Roy). There are of course things like different combos, confirms, spacing, etc. to learn/get used to, but these characters are echo fighters, and as such, like you said, playing them or the character they are based on depends mainly on preference. Look at Mr. R, the man likes playing Chrom but dislike playing Roy, yet he can play the later according to Larry Lurr. And just like him, if I were do drop Lucina, I wouldn't go back to play Marth instead as 1. I dropped him after finding out I dislike playing him for the most part, and 2. because I prefer playing Byleth and Corrin as far as characters with a tipper mechanic are concerned

I was starting to lose confidence in playing Lucina lately due to everyone constantly saying she’s “boring” and “sauceless”, but this video really shows how cool and fun she can be in a 1v1 setting.

It’s just the sentiment about her being lame in comparison to Marth that annoys me a lot, especially when they both benefit from the same setups, calculated reads,spacing, ledgeguarding,neutral wins etc.
The only difference tipper makes is that it rewards you more for setups and well spaced hits. But because of this, people have gotten the idea that marth has this deep combo game that makes him a “better character” or “more respectable/hype”.
They do the same thing more or less, just like many other swordies in ultimate like cloud, Chroy, and Corrin to an extent. The only sword character with a true combo game is aegis, but everyone hates her too😂

People always talk about how hype Marth's tippers are, but they never talk about how lame his sour spots are. I'd rather watch a hyper aggressive, consistent Lucina player than watch a Marth player slowly taking his time, patiently fishing for tippers and landing meh sour spots all the while until they can land the formers.
The idea of Marth being better than Lucina in Ultimate seriously needs to go. All you have to do to make him less effective than her is not get hit by his tippers (which don't have large hitboxes anyway), that way, even if he hits you, he'll hit you like a wuss. Marth can't scrap because his sour spots have low hitstun, but Lucina can.
Chrom, Roy, Cloud, Corrin and Shulk kinda have a combo game. I don't know about the Aegis being hated, but if they are, I don't share the sentiment. I don't care much about what people think. I suggest you do the same, you'll enjoy the game a lot more that way

Yeah I’ll definitely start to ignore the BS, marth is still really fun to play(I mained him in smash 4 with sheik), it’s just annoying how elitist some marth mains become once Lucina is mentioned.
If you like playing Marth, maybe you could play both him and Lucina ? You could use Marth for some matchups, including Ditto ones so you could make Marth elitists shut up a bit, seethe, and cry lol. They act like you need so much more skill to play Marth compared to playing Lucina, one thing you could do is show them it's just plain false by beating them up with their own character (make sure you land nasty tippers while doing so), that's what I do personally

My first time playing palutina I won 6 straight and got in elite smash. Shes just flat out easy. I'm not great with swordies so I struggle with lucina.

I can respect the clean gameplay, though I personally don't feel much affinity for the Lucina gameplay in general, but that's just because Ganon's my soulmate, and watching most characters play reminds me of how Ganondorf has none of it/gets destroyed by them.
Lucina gets more combos on Ganon, edgeguards him for free, and having a ton of safe disjoints is sort of similar to a zoner throwing out projectiles. The PTSD from playing Ganondorf exclusively is real.
Me being a Lucina main who plays Ganondorf for laughs 😶 lol try playing Lucina man, you might have unexpected fun. Solo Ganondorf feels painful 😄

@@mrmediocre848 If I were a Ganondorf solo main looking for a secondary, I'd go for someone probably less powerful, but also faster and with a better recovery. Probably Captain Falcon or Roy
@@Cannelle-bo3nx I've tried both here and there, but there's a lot of mental inertia to overcome the Ganondorf muscle memory. I'll try someone else if Smash 6 doesn't do my demon king justice.
If Smash 6 ever comes and Ganondorf is in there, I hope they'll make Ganondorf better (while revamping his moveset... and keeping his power lol)

No lucina is like captain falcon bit with sword but against zoner, she can anything, like captain falcon.

Depends on the context of the character. I can see a character like Wolf benefitting more from his own back-air than Lucina's given the combo's and stats.
Kinda like Switching out ROB's Gyro and Link's Remote Bomb. Both wouldn't benefit from each other's item and it would be worse for them.
- ROB wouldn't have his combo tool
- Link would have a worse recovery
If I'm good with Marth like I constantly touch people with my tip (pause) should I try Lucina? Is Marth doing more damage with his tip than Lucina?
Or is Marth doing more knockback so it's harder to combo with him?
You can try Lucina to see if you like playing her. Even if you land Marth's tippers enough, she's better than him at close range and she can be played more aggressively. Marth's tippers do more damage than Lucina's regular hits, but their damage output is similar overall. To do combos with Marth, you use sour spots or tippers at low to mid percent, the knockback won't matter much. His combos and Lucina's are a bit different
