The most beautiful thing about this is despite how horrible and cruel his childhood was, he never exhibited any of those qualities and treatment he received while growing up and became one of the kindest and nicest person when he grew up. Sanji was my favorite char even before this arc and after this, I am even more proud of him which I didn't even thought was possible.
This is a shounen anime of course, so they take the easy way out in terms of personality, but anyway Sanji showed kindness to the entire crew whereas Zoro used to not care
It surely hardened him a lot though, he became an angry foul mouthed brat. It wasn't until Zeff that he regained his trust in others.

Now you know the reason why Sanji respects and admires women so much. Not only because Zeff taught him that but also from his own personal experience. The only people that showed him kindness and love were his mom (her name is Sora) and Reiju. While the men in his life, his father and brothers mistreated and abused him. And the most messed up thing is that the father made the brothers have no emotions, no sympathy, no empathy, no caring for others. Reiju was only modified physically but not emotionally or mentally so she has a superhuman body but retains normal human emotions. So the brothers being unfeeling douchebags is a logical consequence of the modifications. Still hate them for how they treated Sanji.
Thracian actually reiju was taught by her mother how to be a "human".the experiment worked on her too.
Agreed to the person above, Reiju was successfully modified. But her mother would teach her how to feel emotions, while she never got the chance to teach her other 3 sons

Oda just reaveled in an sbs that reiju and her bothers are modified the same way. The only reason reiju has emotions and is not a douchebag is because Sora(their mother) raised her, by the time the brother were born she was bedridden and were raised by judge
Zeff and Sanji's bond Is heartbreaking and Heartwarming at the same time, knowing what happened to sanji before he met Zeff. I love how Oda's story telling focuses on the Family aspect of not having Blood Relationships yet still have that Familial bond, it shows that Family is someone who loves and cares for you like you are their own, even if you're not.

I just want to remind everyone of Sanji's most powerful ability: His unbound, limitless, bottomless and gentle compassion.
I know Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji are all REALLY hateable, but I still can't help but feel sorry for them on some level.
Since Reiju was born first, not only did the drugs removing emotions not in her, but she had time to spend with her mother.
The other three, on the other hand, had their ability to feel empathy and emotions taken from them at birth. Not only that, but Judge constantly made them train, keeping them away from their mother before she passed away. Not only were they born without emotions, but Judge ensured that they wouldn't develop any.
So, it's ultimately not their fault that they're cruel, unfeeling assholes. It's Judge's. They never had a choice to become what they have.
The main take away from this batch of episodes is very simple: Reiju is best girl
A wise alien once said, "he might be your father but he aint ya daddy" I think that applies here
The mums in OP are just priceless, they know how to raise kids, but Big Mom!
I like how upset you are over the idea of a Niji and Cosette ship while also completely adoring Frieza and Doffy, two of the most heartless tyrants in anime. xD

Little did Past Jamie know, that that would be the worst thing Sanji's Dad could do to him.
Reiju is a good sister. She was a kid that was stuck in the same situation and didn't know how to help him. And eventually she thought it's better for Sanji to run away.
Little bit to add here, Sanji being locked in an iron mask is likely a reference to a prisoner in France (being a place Oda has tied Sanji to) back in 1669 who was locked away with an iron mask on. His identity was never known but it was believed that he was some form of royalty hidden away, hence the parallels to Sanji here.

37:00 this technically doesn't spoil anything but Oda later mentions that Reiju actually is the same as Ichiji, Niji and Yonji in regards to the kinds of changes made to her... it's just that she's three years older and their mother was a really good influence on the ones who visited her

from the start of this series luffy was the only man that sanji cannot hate...

there's actually another thing that this really hammers in when you think about it; consider how much Judge doesn't care for Sanji, now consider the effort he went through to get Sanji back for this... how bad does he think Big Mom is that he'd do this to spare his "good" kids
If you go back to sanji meeting reiju again when she arrives in WCI and how she's been watching him since, it just takes on a whole new meaning. She was happy meeting Luffy that Sanji found people who care so much about him.
It is implied that because now Sanji can go toe to toe with his brothers his enhancements did work, he was just a late bloomer.
That explains why Sanji retains his compassion while also being part of the monster trio without proper training as much as Zoro or Luffy. Also his fire powers.
Zeff and Judge are such great foils to each other. Their entire relationship Zeff was a hardass who cared for Sanji, never asking anything in return despite all he gave up. Judge was a monster who demanded things from Sanji that a normal human child simply couldn’t do and despised him and for it. Zeff wanted Sanji to leave the Baratie so Sanji could fulfill his dreams While Judge let Sanji leave because it would mean he didn’t need to have his failure around anymore. Zeff for all his harsh nature gave Sanji a small goodbye with fatherly advice that let Sanji know he was loved. Judge let Sanji leave with the condition that Sanji never reveal who his father was because he was ashamed of him.

I can't bring myself to hate Niji, Yonji, Ichni, or Reiju. This wasn't their fault, they were kids who had no say in what happened to them. The way they are was forced upon them. They were made to be heartless monsters(Besides Reiju whose just slightly less emotional than an average person).

These flashbacks make you understand Sanji's behavior as an adult a lot more.
He never was allowed a normal childhood. Never had any child friends. Maybe that's why his dream is to find the All Blue, something so adventurous, and why he he likes Luffy so much, since Luffy is basically a child.
Also, it makes you think about his relation with women. Growing up his mother and sister were the only ones who paid attention to him. And at the Baratie the only women were clients, so he learned he should serve women always. That's why he puts them so above
Reiju is such a good character I really loved her character development ^_^! Totally one of my favorite girls in One piece. Moreover, this arc will blow your mind! Just you wait xD

The start of this arc was so frustrating, Sanji is finally strong enough to beat the hell out of all his brothers and his father but he's pretty much hands tied (or feet) by how dirty they play.
Episode 900 just released, so if you're on episode 804, that means you have 96 more episodes to go, divided by 4 which is the usual amount of episodes per video, that's 24 videos, and since you do about 4 one piece videos per week that means 6 weeks of videos, adding the 6 episodes released in that time would round up to 2 more videos so by October 13 (more or less), you'll be caught up with the anime

Yeah~ alot of the Straw Hats have some sad backstories and Law has one crazy one too, but Sanji is on a whole other level.
Father who disowned him, mother who passed on, brothers who harrassed him and almost starved when he left them. The only good things that hapoened was Zeff and the Straw Hats.
