As a Dutch person who has a lot of anxieties as a kid I was afraid of getting feedback because of the directness. I often felt rejected as a person because I was insecure. Now as a grown-up I so love the way of communicating because I know where I’m at. There is no secret agenda. Plus if I get feedback, it is over something I did and not over me as a person. It is a sincere way of communicating. For me, it feels pure and is less “scary” then trying to figure out if somebody means something else than that they say. I understand that peach cultures are confused or maybe angry when they encounter this way of communication.
I think being overly friendly and beating around the bush is rude, being this friendly and up beat all the time is just fake. Say what you mean, mean what you say, be real.. It’s not only more efficient but you also create people around you that will like you for you, really know you, and will be there for you. We’re not friends with everyone, we don’t need and want to be, we have few but true friends based on being real
We do care a lot about someone's feelings. We will let you know exactly what we expect of you. What we do like and what we don't like so nobody gets injured unnecessarily. Although, that is me 100%.
