    I actually want to try this! I don't have much of a creative side with this form of art (as my art is within music) but I can work a spray can properly as I had to paint bottles with them as apart of my old job, so I know about touch up techniques etc.
    I reckon I could actually pull this off. Congrats, you just got another subscriber :)

I'm going to wait til it's dry and if I need to redo the milky way I will. Plus my bought star ability is bad so I may take that out completely when I redo that part. But your art is absolutely stunning!! And worth a practice.

      Hi Leon, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback, and the question I really appreciate it :) I've not really tried any other brand yet apart from Montana, the reason for that is because I like and enjoy using it :) To answer your first question I would just say find the paint that best suits you and you like using because different people like different brands and will say one is better than the others and so on, Try a brand for a few weeks and get used to how it sprays and work if you like it stick with that brand if you don't try another till you find one that suits you the best, hope that helps :) Yes, I have an in-depth step by step beginners tutorial series on my channel explaining how to do things that could help you out, The link to the first video in the series is here ua-cam.com/video/wQneOLGwGks/v-deo.html Hope the videos can help you out :)

      @@JonBarberArt You're very welcome sir. I've been watching your "how to" video because I've always wanted to learn how to do this ever since I first discovered this type of art over 20 years ago.
      What I was meaning by the painting was art itself before you placed the planet templated was around the 5:40 mark. That on its own could be art itself. Well with a little bit of highlighting in some areas to help blend the colors.

    Amazing job man! turned out amazing. Ive just tried to recreate this on my own and I ran into a few problems that I was hoping u could help me out with. When I was doing the first black coat which u did at 3:40 I ended up not getting much of the black paint off. I did a few things different then you and I was wondering if maybe those had to do with it. First thing is that I used newspaper instead of a plastic sheet, does the plastic sheet make the difference? I also used a heat resistant black spray paint for grills as that was all I had available. Please lmk if theree is anything I can do to fix this. Thanks.

    • @JonBarberArt
      @JonBarberArt  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Kryptoknight, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave these kind words, the comment, feedback, and the questions I really do appreciate it :) Okay, the first one i'll answer is the black not coming off very well :) To get a good texture the paint still has to be wet, before you do the texture, if you didn't get much texture on the painting the paint may have dried a little to much which means it won't produce much texture, to get better texture just make sure the paint is wet before placing the material over it :) Newspaper will work for texture, Just make sure the paints wet before placing it on, also with newspaper and magazine paper if the paint is to dry and you do the texture it can stick to the painting and rip when you pull it back off, I have never tried heat resistant paint so not sure if it may be that, that is coursing the paint not to texture, it may be that it drys to fast, I would suggest getting a different black not a heat resistant one and see if it works better :) hope you find this helpful and let me know how you get on :)

      Hi Tammy, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and question I really appreciate it :) It's all about how much paint you put down before pulling some off , the more you put on the more chance it will blend and mix, If you are having problems with the paint blending try using less paint to see if it stops the blending, hope this helps :)

      Hi The Physique Mechanic, The paint i'm using is a semi-gloss paint but gloss works as well, in fact most spray paint brands will work for spray paint art, it just takes a bit of time getting use to the cans you are using, also i have a beginners tutorial series on my channel which are step by step talking tutorial videos, these may help you out if you are just starting out :)

    So I attempted this twice yesterday! Came out decent for first try.
    Only issue I'm having is the plastic when I lay it over and pull it up is not pulling up enough of the paint and I have to go over Alot, that and I'm getting pooling of the paints on the canvas.
    Is there a specific amount of time u should leave the bag down for or specific type of bag used?

    • @JonBarberArt
      @JonBarberArt  2 роки тому +2

      Hi The Physique Mechanic, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, and the question, I really appreciate it :) Glad to hear that your first paintings turned out decent :) If the paint is pooling then you are putting to much paint down in that area, try using less paint that way you won't get any pooling, also if there is too much paint down and you go and make the texture with plastic and rub it light you will only pull a bit of the paint back up and the more you do the texture in one spot the more chance of the paint mixing all together, but by using less paint you should be able to make better texture with just one pull :) hope this makes sense and helps you out :)

    I'd like to see the art against a white backdrop when it's done. I loved the colorful swirl through it and everything but the shading/lighting fell flat for it. I don't know if it needed the shading on the same side of each planet (IMO of course) or if some of the planets should have been darker or lighter? Amazing work that's all the constructive criticism I could think of.

      Hi Donovan, Sorry for the late response, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, and the question, I really appreciate it :) Okay, doe's it happen as soon as you start painting? if so there might be some thing on the materiel you are using that is reacting with the paint, give the materiel a clean before using it :) Or doe's it happen halfway thought or when you do something in the painting? if so you may be putting to much paint down so when you add more over the top it starts to separate from each other and can leave like dots of colour. I hope this helps :) If not comment back with more details of when it happens then i can help you better :)

    I don’t understand how you’re able to cake that much paint on top of each other without bleeding to other areas. And whenever I swipe the entries canvas to create texture like that it’s always obvious where I swiped because if it’s not hidden under the planet the texture shows up on the background where I don’t want it. It’s all black. But still at certain angles it’s noticeable
