I don't usually comment on YT but I started to watch like 5 videos on reversing fridges and they were to much and too long. I really appreciate your straight to the point instructions.
This is probably the best, most efficient DIY video I have ever seen. Clearly stated instructions, short cuts. So easy to grasp and pause and continue.
I know this video is 6 years old, but seriously, thank you for making this as simple as humanly possible. Cut and dry, right to the point. You are much appreciated! 😊
This is an awesome comment, Lauren. The beauty of Evergreen content :-) thanks for watching!
Thank you for the lesson bro! We're starting a family and it feels good to be able to take care of home thanks to good men like you. Cheers!
Thank you Drizzy congratulations my friend one of the greatest joys in life. I’m so happy to help and this comment rocks. Thank you so much. it’s getting the heart!
One of the only UA-camrs I can actually follow. Can't wait for more videos. Keep 'em coming!!
The six foot doll thank you so much six foot doll! More on the way. Thanks for sharing!
This is really great! I've done it before on a tiny fridge, but needed a reminder and not 30 minutes of watching some guy turning his fridge upside down and not have the correct tools for the job. Thank you!
Don’t know why I thought I needed separate hardware for each side. But I watched this video and ten minutes later switched my fridge doors. Thanks a lot bud!
Thank you SOOOOO much for this. My fridge is in a tiny corner. It always felt so awkward to open the fridge door. I had absolutely NO idea this was even possible. I appreciate your help, Home Mender!
I actually really like the level of editing/presentation on this video. As a math teacher, I know how important it is to keep things moving without glossing over any important steps, and I think this toes the line very nicely.
thank you brandon! love getting to the point...thanks so much for noticing and i appreciate the comment!
God bless you Sir!!!! The first minute and a half was enough to help me with what seemed to me to be one of the most impossible tasks I ever faced.
You are awesome thank you so much for sharing you wouldn’t believe what you’re capable of

Came because I was looking for a visual on how to do it, but subscribed because you made it simple, easy, without extra. Your enthusiasm kind of amped up my own feeling about getting the job done by myself as well.
Geting ready to buy a new fridge and was ready to figure door swap on the fly. Now I don't have to. THANKS!
GREAT video! It's short and sweet, and very informative. Your personality adds a lot to keep the viewer's interest and all the different camera angles help make this instruction a winner.
The way he caressed the freezer door at 3:38 🤣 but this was a good tutorial thanks!
You are a god! Maintenance couldn't be helped to help my mom fix the fridge door they installed on the wrong side blocking entrance for fridge access, due to limited space. I'll be using this video to reference and take care of it myself. 10/10 you rock!
Awesome comment my friend. Always happy to help out a mom. And you rock also for helping
You have mastered the tutorial format. Quick and to the point; good editing and good sound! Great job and thanks for the lesson.
Ha was going to buy a new fridge today because it was broken on the hinge, had no idea you could swap to the other side! Thank you from Scotland.
Best and most concise DIY video I’ve seen in a while. Thanks for making it short and simple!
TAKE NOTE UA-cam:
This is the way a tutorial is meant to be: Short, straight to-the-point, and dead on.
If I could give you 10 👍, I would.
Thank you!
i just did my wife's this morning she and my daughter approved the result .thanks to you sir!!!
I will do the same to my daughter's fridge. Thanks for the demonstration.
2023 I have a pretty useless landlord and I had that problem with my fridge, this was exactly what I needed. Thank you very much!!!
Thank you! I wish I had known it was this easy and I would have switched the doors on this fridge in my rental house a long time ago!
Subscribing because this was the best tutorial I’ve ever seen. Like most of the comments I came for a solution. You gave it. Clear. Easy to understand. Straight to the point. I didn’t have to wait through 5 mins of intro or yapping or anything other than what I came for. Then you explained and showed everything so clearly and uncomplicated that if I need your assistance again I’ll want to easily find your content. Thank you for a great video!! I know I yapped a lot but ik comments help promote channels and yours by far deserves it.
This is an awesome, Laura. Thank you so much for sharing and I am happy to help :-)
really enjoyed your video, simple yet informative. I am attempting it this afternoon
Thanks for sharing
Thanks Dustin, Thought this would be far more complicated. Thanks so much dude !! 😊
First video I’ve watched without turning fridge freezer on its side! SO SO helpful, thank you. Best tip… screw in by hand first to stop getting stripped (I will be taking this piece of advice away with me 💯
Thank you Dustin!
I did it, thanks to your video. Direct and simple!
I’m definitely putting a heart on this, Ao Thank you so much for sharing. I knew you could do it!
Thank you! I was trying to figure out how to put the fridge back together as the movers had to remove the doors and it's now in a different room, facing a different direction.
Great video. Fast and to the point! The only thing I would have added is most newer fridges can be done like this, top to bottom, then bottom back to top. There are online manuals for your fridge model that usually have details on how to do this (some models differ but not by much), screws out, switch, screws in and you're good just like you did. Keep up the good work!
Just moved into a new place and I wasn't have this fridge issue.. found your video and switched my sides before i even put food in!!! Thanks bro😀
Bless you for sharing this video!...i have to switch the door hinges & though it looks pretty self explanatory/simple i was hoping to be Certain before i began...& Here You are showing us in Complete Easy detail. Hardest part will be finding something just the right height to brace the door on...lol
Thanks - I feel much more confident to do the job! - Now to the real test :-)
Thank you! I was able to watch your video and go step by step with you, the whole process. Super simple. Much appreciated!
Supper Thank you. Simple and to the point no going around the bush ....😎
good lord THANK YOU for not giving us the life story of you and your fridge. although I'm sure both are awesome, I'm on a time crunch. this video was A++++++++++++++ 🎉👏👍
Awesome comment sass. Just a brief rundown that was at my apartment in Montreal and I am happy that I was able to move the fridge door to the other side. Thanks for commenting.
Very helpful, Thanks. Bout to go swap mine now. Thanks to you, I DO got this! Looking forward to your other vids
Thanks for this! Good to know it can be a one-man job. I need to do this for my apartment fridge but moving the doors oppositely of how you did. The doors open towards the kitchen wall but it's a really tight fit and the produce drawer cant slide out all the way so I'm losing space. Maybe I'll give it a shot later today.
Thanks for this! I plan to attempt it myself tomorrow!
Thanks man. I knew how to do this but I wanted to see it done before "going for it." Lol
Appreciate the post.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Always wondered what those plugs were for 😁
glad to see you brought out another video hope to see more , we are big fans
Thanks so much! We did it! This has really helped with our small apartment kitchen layout.
Thank you for demonstrating the reversal of the door swing!
@@homemend I'm embarrassed to say that I don't need it right now. 😀It is something that I wondered about, because I recall experiencing it in the past, or at least I'm aware that such misfortune can happen.
Thanks for the video. Just wanted to make sure I was thinking correctly. Thanks
Thank you! I'll be completing this soon so my maintenance won't have to. :)
Thanks Dustin. Just the advice I needed. I appreciated the video. Thumbs Up and I subscribed.
Is it using the same brackets from the other side. Or do I need to use different brackets for left or right side ? As I can’t find any spare brackets in the box
Hey M great question. You should be able to use the same bracket either reversed or turned upside down or it may be symmetrical. You got
Ive got one plastic plug out of top of the fridge but accidentally broke two of the tops of the plug so they’re stuck in the hole, I was wondering if you have a suggestion on getting it out? Thankyou
Hey Jesse, great question… You would want to break them out of there or possibly drill them but try not to damage the whole Just bust out the plastic piece and then replace those
Thumbs up Dude! Not understanding why anyone would give you Thumbs down! Your awesome👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
LuvLife Amen look at all those thumbs ups! You’re awesome luv life! Thanks for sharing , my friend.
@@homemend My daughter in law changed the fridge door. Thanks to your video it was very easy! 😉
Looks easy BUT; first problem we had with our new Amana was that the tiny plastic plugs on top of fridge could not be popped out. First tried small flat screwdriver but could not get it under that cap. Switched to a small knife blade; finally after a couple minutes of very careful / gently prying the cap broke off, leaving the stem down in the hole. Seemed those pegs were glued in. So our door will remail the way it is.
Thank you so much. The video was easy to follow. And saved me from having to call my X for help.
Thanks! And let me say it was really convenient having an empty unplugged fridge! Lol
So helpful, thank you
Don't know why I clicked on this, I think it was the Thumbnail. LoL Great video!
Great video! I was wondering how easy it is to replace windows? this spring/summer that's one of my big things that I want to do before next winter.
You just blew my mind. I had no idea that was even a thing.
@@homemend thank you for your videos! Tackling my first rent house renovation and it's been a huge help.
Putting the exterior doors in concrete block was a bit of a pickle, though.
2 years later......I just found this video. My boyfriend and I just adopted our neighbor's 13 yo fridge. Love it, but we needed to switch the door. Just did and it won't stay shut. Not sure if this could be because it was one way for so long, and doesn't want to switch direction? Anywho, looking for some guidance if you have any ideas. Thanks!
hey jennifer! oh no..... you may try playing with the washer configuration on the bottom hinge.? sometimes it csn be set too close to the frame and makes it hinge bound, that can keep it from closing...i hope this helps!
What happens when your base mounting plate/hinge has a screw that goes /behind/ the front foot of the fridge?
I attempted an adjustable wrench, 5/16th's wrench (which worked on the rest), to no avail. Do I just not have the right tool? The maker's of this fridge couldn't've possibly thought that we'd have to turn the fridge on its axis to access this screw, would they?
Hey Ron is this something that one of those swivel head bits can get? Maybe like the flexible snake kind?
Before removing the freezer door, try this..... Put one of your bed's pillows into a large plastic bag (ex. garbage bag). When the freezer door comes off, push that into the freezer to keep the cold air in, and the warm air out. Then you don't have to be in such a hurry.
I have a refrigerator door that has a mind of its own. When I open the door, before I can even count to 2 the door is swinging shut... is there some way I can slow down the swing?
Lowes installers said "swapping the door is NOT advisable since the door seals don't really work after that"; something about the alignment of the door to body of refrigerators. Is that TRUE??
Hey Bill. Unfortunately, we can’t let the Lowe’s words carry much weight in our lives :-(. If that was true, they would not make the doors able to be moved to the other side.
I've done the fridge door swap a few times, but it looks like my cheap apartment manager bought one that you can't switch the doors. There is a peg that sticks up on the right side in the second hole farthest to the right. The only way to move it to the other side would be to remove the whole thing from the underneath and left. Unfortunately when you do that the pin is on the right side of the left side of the two holes. And it's a permanent pin piece meaning there's no screw or any way to remove it.

I've been patiently waiting for my husband to do this for me all summer and finally said screw it, found your video and did it myself! You are wonderful! My husband and I thank you sir :)
thank you so much for sharing jayne! loving you guys!
HAHAHAHAHA ME RIGHT NOW
Same! Me right now right now 😂👍

I better get it done today!!🤣
