Civilians should be banned from any military purchases and ex military personnel with actual experience bought in with subject matter professionals to make strategic purchases. I have been on the other side of poor decisions made by DMO now CASG during my 30 plus years in the Army and it was generally civilians that made final decisions on equipment with limited input from soldiers.

Greg Moriarity blustered and fumbled his way through his response. He really had very little knowledge of the process, without continually looking at his notes. If this is the standard of senior bureaucrats managing defence processes, we should all be alarmed. Add the fact that Labor government is making reckless decisions, which reduce our defence capability, then I think we are literally stuffed. The quicker they are voted out the quicker we will have adults running the show.
