While remaining in my golf posture: at the transitional phase of my golf swing I imagine a direct connection between my magic trail elbow and the firing movement of my lead hip out of my way for my downswing. With this connection my right elbow automatically drops into its slot. Without this connection my trail elbow is indeed left behind. Cheers👍🥂😊

I started golfing last year and struggle with this. My hands get far too deep in the back swing and rush through the transition. Result is crazy inside out swing that will push balls to the right or sometimes a wicked hook.
Your videos is very helpful. Thanks!

Thanks David, pleased to hear the videos have helped! Do you work towards hitting a fade then to shift your current pattern? Lots of times it has been effective with players to just work towards the opposite ball flight.

How do you know your hands are too deep?

My 14 yr old son is struggling with this. He's as flexible as H^ll, and just fires his hips waaayyyy too soon. Great video....btw, you look just like Tommy Fleetwood. Cheers!

You got it! Lots of junior players have this issue due to having not yet developed the postural control and control at the hip joint for the golf swing. I would suggest him trying to be as wide as possible in his backswing and downswing, this should create some stretch where he can feel the movement better and also help with the transition. If you ever wanted a more specific take on how to help him let me know and I can let you know which options I have to support in person and remotely. Appreciate the comment and good luck to your son!

@@IanMellorGolf Yeah, I think it's just a function of him needing to "Grow into his body", type of thing. Kids have such "noodley" spines at his age, and they are growing every day on top of it all. CHeers from the USA!

I guess its opposite of the old pin the head cover in your armpit drill, which I always thought was too restrictive and stiff.

Hi Eric, you could say so. Pinning the head cover is more compression of the upper arm on to the ribcage which would limit the opportunity for the ribcage to rotate.

getting stuck is simply you making the club too shallow, simply come in a bit steeper and its impossible to get stuck
