Kamikaze Chris and the El Camino going rounds at the Redemption 6.0 No Prep event at Tulsa Raceway Park. Not only can this dude drive, but he is a hell of a nice guy.
Looks like it's finally coming together for Chris and the elco. He's spent a fortune on that car to get it launching straight and true and it looks like he's pretty much got it lined out now.
I like the car, it's running well at the moment. But where I come from, stock suspension means it still has the factory pick up points or mount points front and rear, the rear is far from factory mount points with tubs that big and such a narrow rear end. it has coilovers and a proper 4 link now, not the shitty triangulated 4 link it had before. See the build semi- complete on 1320, you can see how narrow that rear is and the whole floor at the rear has been cut out and replaced with tube chassis. It's a back half car, that's not stock suspension any more. At 0:45 that's what he calls it though
Hell, I just watched the 1320 vid again and now that stock suspension comment seems even funnier! Yeah, stock suspension my ass Chris. And it's more of a 3/4 chassis car than a back half car too. So, maybe stock front suspension cause it's stock from the firewall forward. But you can't call it a stock suspension deal, it's just not. it was before you cut it up. But not by a long shot now. With the triangulated 4 link gone, you can't say that anymore. And which one of the 8 mount points for each of the upper and lower arms are the stock position??? LOL. Can't even say that! Top ones have changed angle and both upper and lower have been moved in dramatically to clear the tubs
the El Camino was destined for big tires and should stay that way , all he needs now is one of them Pat Musi 9000cu in motors , LMAO,,,, jk jk but seriously that car is cool and is one of the last few cars that's not a full blown promod , the promods are getting old already
