I could not disagree more with the charge against the job market. I have post secondary education mind you but I was not looking in any specialized field I just looked at sales jobs and I’ve been batting employers away with a stick. The job market in the US as a whole is an employees market, we have more jobs than people who want to work. There is tremendous opportunity in Charleston for the industrious individual
Thanks so much for your feedback! We understand that not all personal experiences match the statistics and we're glad to hear you are not suffering to find employment. However, we do want to point out that this video is about Charles Town, WV located in Jefferson County. Charleston, WV is located in Kanawha County and is a few hundred miles away. Not sure if that was a typo. We hope that clears up any confusion!
I can entertain myself; I’m retired; I’m active and pretty healthy (staying away AMAP from docs and hospitals); I like 4 seasons; so maybe it’s a yes. Can you or someone in the comments give me some idea of the social scene: are there meetups, clubs, art and music events, farms that will sell real food nearby, is the air and water quality good, are there political tensions, is there a responsive police force, do you need a 4-wheel drive in the winter, etc.? Thanks!
@ladycactus110, I love your UA-cam name! I can answer a few of these easily, there are definitely farms all over the place here and the farmer's market is a very popular local event where you meet all kinds of folks. You don't need a 4-wheel drive unless you're living up on a mountain or a steep hill. Happy to send you some links to help answer other questions (including some links to help answer some of your questions!) You can email at info@raisethebarDMV.com or text/call at (540) 539-6115.
the capital of West Virginia is much smaller than Boston massachusetts my home state. some state capitals are small like montpellier Vermont. west Virginia state is similar to Vermont with it's small town and suburbs. different in other ways
Hi @scottbrenham1341! The capital of West Virginia is not Charles Town but Charleston, a common confusion. Charleston is over 200 miles away from this location and much larger, more like a city, but not as big as Boston. Thanks for watching our video!
No small town the size of Charles Town would be expected to have a lot of doctors practicing locally, but it should be noted that we actually do have a hospital, Jefferson Medical Center, that operates under WVU Medicine. It is also centrally located within 30-45 min from doctors in Winchester Va, Leesburg VA, Martinsburg WV, Hagerstown Md, and Frederick Md, and within an hour or so of DC and Baltimore area specialists.
I don't think this video represents Charles Town at all. The foorage that was shown was not Charles Town and is misleading at best. How about re-doing the video and this time actually go there and record the Town.
@fly124 thanks for the feedback! We do have a video where we travel all over Charles Town, you can check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/yVkXnhiK_o0/v-deo.html
