- This was a really fun video to film! Usually I spend at least two to three hours filming my Come Thrifting videos for you all, but I thought I would show you what it really is like, when I'm just popping in when I have an hour to kill.
I show you how I just scan the aisles, and only grab things that pop out to me. Also, how I just stand outside the dressing room and try things on over my clothes.

You pull things off the rack that I would pass up because it looks like "gramma" clothes, but then you style them and make them look amazing! Gives me a new way to look for possibilities.
Small children screaming & cavorting throughout Goodwills is the soundtrack to my childless but thrifting-obsessed life.

I'm with you, B! I usually try on stuff right in front of a mirror, outside the dressing room. Please make another video where you do commentary as you are pulling the items off the rack. I'd like to hear more of your impressions on finds. Thank you for this video...from Grandma Bunny in Phoenix.
We go on the dollar and two dollar sale days and it is unbelievable what we come home with!!! Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful! So correct to point out at the start of this video that consistency and frequent visits are the key plus using a discerning eye. LOVE the scanning tips, too! Right on! The brown dress surprised me once you put it on!
Did this last night exactly because I had my husband with me. He found just as many great things as I did. We left at 50 mins. I only did the blazer section and homewares. Tried on the blazers but the dressing rooms in the mirror and wound up keeping 5 pieces. Got an amazing lamp also and my husband got an old Montgomery Ward sewing machine as our backup in case we decide to do some upholstery I. the garage. What fun it is to thrift!

When I go thrifting I try my best to wear a tank top and thin yoga pants with a kimono or something to dress it up a little but I try everything on over my clothes. Where I live you can only take 3 things in the dressing room so doing this method makes it so much quicker for me. :)
Great tips when you only have a short time.

That’s funny because from my experience is I try my best to not go very often and I take my time to look through the sections I’m interested in like one by one. And I try stuff on too. And and! Location is everything!

Spent 4h in thrift-shops today! I always have to bike outside town to get to them so for med it's like a treat-day I plan a head and go full out! But sometimes quickies are fun too! :D

I go in and straight to shoes and boots and on to coats and blazers.. I go on to a mirror and usually edit items there.. from there I browse skirt and dresses and active wear..love it
About an hour works best for me, or else I get too tired and nothing looks good anymore. I just got slightly taller brown leather ankle booties, a lovely blue and black toned "silk" scarf and a brown long cardigan in an hour this week. Absolutely love thrifting! I often have a couple items I'm particularly interested in, but don't limit myself too much, unless the budget is crunched.
Love the video, often time I can spend hours at the thrift store scanning through each section. I’d like to test this one hour idea to see how much I can find within the time frame. Love it!
I have one thrift store which I peruse quickly,but the goodwill takes me about 11/2 hours. Our Goodwill is sometimes packed so full you can barely move clothing on racks.Im also bad for talking to the kids when they come up to me and then they stalk me ,lol. You always find great things . Last week I found several wonderful Loft pieces ,INC,and Talbots.
I'm from San Francisco, CA and the Goodwill Store up the street closed up and there's another one up the street called Out Of The Closet but Goodwill has a bigger selection so most of the consignment stores are either way across town or out of the city and I enjoy watching your videos and thank you for sharing

One hour GW is my favorite lunch break!! My quick tip trick is a sleeve scan. I can spot details there that are striking like buttons, material and tags.
I do the same thing. I just scan and look for certain colors and prints to catch my eye. When you go as often as I do you can’t look at every single item.
You absolutely gave to go often. Thrift store inventory changes so often. The put out hundred of new items per day.
I got at least 3-5 times a week.

your features beautifully!!! Now! that was truly a lesson in thrifting, I realized I'm spending far too much time in one section. I also tend not to scan the store. I'll take the challenge do 1 hour thrifting and see what I get!
Wow, it looks like there were so many gems in that Goodwill! Loved the striped bright cardigan. This was so useful Beth, I'm so bad at having a quick scan, I always end up spending hours!
Hey Beth. I love this as I have used this method quite a bit myself. It is the trying on over stuff that I don’t do. Great tip.
Fun video! This reminds me of my younger years :-) I've filled out quite a bit since those days so thrift stores net considerably less for me than they used to. I've also gotten very specific about the types of fabrics I'll wear since cut and quality matter so much more when you're a larger person.
Hi. 45 minutes is my sweet spot. I look for color, texture and uniqueness.
You looked AMAZING in this vid! I usually spend 25 minutes in a thrift store and ALWAYS find several things! I think after you do it awhile, it becomes second nature!

The dark brown dress.... Loved it, but all your pieces are awesome.
Wow! I out of breath just watching speedy thrifting. lol You found some really nice stuff, surprised on some of the things you put back. I notice during your try on you had a special cameo appearance. I really liked the turquoise/pink button up flannel dress, it had a good length and colors you don't normally see together. (that was one of my favs) Also really like the midi length floral button up dress, I just picked up one just like it. It a snugger fit than yours on you but I can button it up but I will more use it as a kimono or a long top with buttons open in lower half. When I do short thrift visit (which is rare for me) I find myself paying more for each items because I can't focus on the $1 rack and what on sale for the day things, because what usually stands out for me is not the color tag for today.

I love this! I "speed thrift" all the time because I have two kids under three, so it's speed thrift with them, or speed thrift without them a half hour before the store closes haha! Otherwise I love to go for two hours.

when I am "in the mood" and have the time, I can spend like 3 hours in a decent sized store but often I like an hour- 90 minutes so I don't get overwhelmed.

I love the pieces you pulled even if you didn't get everything. I have a similar process in my usual stores. I go often so I don't need to spend too much time. But my favorite thrift stores in Denver... I spent 3 hours there last visit. Lol. But I love it.

Fun video; I am a thrifter for clothing; but just seeing how much stuff I can grab in a time limit is not for me. I keep a tight reign on my wardrobe; a little more than a capsule; but i thrift with a list of what I need to fill in or add; basic color scheme with some pop of color; pieces must be mix and match; and I always try on. Don't want to drag a bunch of things home, I don't end up wearing.
Think I might do this more often - just decided to check out some new( actually old places) in my almost hood to get the feel for them .

Also since I’m a bit of a cat - a black witchy one -have to ask apart from washing do you do anything to “ clean” and / or give stuff even more positive vibes ? ( thinking of doing that to stuff that I give away and also the stuff I get though if I feel an uncomfortable vibe zap me I just forego the item ) kinda think that you might as well give positive to the world ;)

I too got lots of finds going on very short stop t the thrift store just becausei had to. Just the other day i got hight waisted trousers, velevet blazer and a leather vintage coat to die for. These are the best trips i have!
Nowifinished watching it, I really loved how you eliminated and down sized the number of stuff to really purchase. I too thrift A LOT and use your method when being overwhelmed by the amount of good stuff i find. We don't need that much of clothes to own.
