For the first year of my mission I was probably more shy then you knew me as. I would never speak. Even for questions as simple as “what’s your name?” I would always answer with a shrug of my shoulders. And I didn’t enjoy it. I would never look forward to going out, and I just couldn’t wait till I could get back home. Come the second half of my mission I chose to start opening up. To talk more, to try and make friends. As difficult as that was for me.. but it helped so much. I began enjoying going out. I would even go on days I wasn’t assigned to go just because I wanted to. I know it’s difficult to leave everything behind, and make good friends in a completely new environment. It’s tough making friends in general. But it doesn’t have to be immediately. It can take a year. But I promise you it will make life so much better if you do. And your friend out here in America, won’t stop being your friend just because you moved. That time you saw me at the theaters with Boyd and peeps? That was literally the first time I had seen them since we graduated. Friends will always be friends.
10 years is crazy man, congratulations!
It’s weird to think of you leaving the US tho. Safe travels if you do go.
Thanks, man. It's still kinda up in the air, but I'd say its an 80% chance that I'll be leaving.
