  • What is up and thanks for checking out the "how to replace the heater core" video! I was tired of using my cheap Amazon defroster as it was unsafe and quite stupid of me to use.
I do say a few curse words in here so sorry in advance but let's be real for a second.... are you really working on your jeep xj if you don't say a word or two?
Thanks for watching hope you guys enjoy. I know Im excited to go hit the snow in it and not have to worry about the windshield fogging up!

You made this look easy! Great video man. THANK YOU. Also have a 95 XJ, and there needs to be more content for the 94-96 XJ's when it comes to the differences with the Heat and AC systems.

Had to do my 97 Cherokee and it’s 75% easier than what the 95 look like. I have a 95 Cherokee I gotta do this to, honestly it looking forward to it lol. Good job man!

@@crop69duster43 thanks dude. Make sure on your ac evap core you keep your probe deal that has I think two wires to it… mine ripped out and the core I ordered was off rock auto and it didn’t come with a new probe hole. My mechanic recommended I find a probe and drill a hole in my box and rest it near the coils. My issue now is finding a probe. Heat works great now but still messing with my ac. Hope your project goes good man!

Thank you! This is first video that’s actually shown removal of the fresh air box in good detail, and pulling dash off.
I have 93, so only difference is the steering wheel column (it has the GM one used in 86-94).
I currently don’t have AC , and plan to grab the parts from JY , except that heater core , Evap , and the compressor will likely be new or rebuilt worst case + convert the o rings to use newer refrigerant.

Glad it can be of use! Good luck with your project. Don't rush the dash removal if yours is in good shape!

How did the evaporator work without the probe? Was there any problem or does it work fine

I’m not 100% about the probe. I’ve been told there should be no issues as the replacement parts don’t come with the probe hole. I still need to take the xj to a shop to go through and charge/clean the ac system.

@@PassitOnGarage any update on the probe and the effects of using it or not?

@@albertbrown4956 not yet, this is my 4th vehicle and not a daily so I have been lazy taking it to the shop for a vac and recharge. I have read on the forums that it has/can caused issues which I am slightly concerned about. I have an appointment with a shop for the end of this month to check it out though.

@@albertbrown4956 hey man. Picking up my xj tonight from my mechanic. He couldn’t get it to run properly without the probe. He called around to dealers and the probe has been discontinued for awhile now. Which is strange because I couldn’t find a core that had one in it. It was recommended that I try and find a spare probe somehow, drill a hole in the box and set the probe between the coils and put silicone around it. I hope yours works better than mine. If I find a way I’ll definitely be posting a video on it
