Absolutely love how Status Quo captures the essence of storytelling in Slow Train. The musicianship is top notch, and it's fascinating to hear the emotional depth in their lyrics. Great choice for a reaction video, looking forward to seeing your insights on this track!
My favorit QUO album. Saw them play this live at the Pink Pop festival in the Netherlands in the 70's. Verry verry good performance. Close my eyes, I still see and hear it. First reaction to this one ,as far as I know, so...THANKS A LOT.💪👍😁❤️
From 1971 to 1978 they were at their best, Dog of two head, Piledriver, Hello, Quo, On the level, Blue for you, Live, throw in Whatever you want as the weakest....
I played these albums to death in the mid/late 70's. I'm now enjoying new generations listening to them. Yes, I know they are not "cool" but that's what makes them cool.
The golden 70ths of Status Quo. Maybe: Paperplane, Caroline, or Big fat mama ? I still got the albums from that period. They hit me from the start when i heard them for the first time with, Down down in the early 70ths. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Massive popularity when I was young and they still are. How many current artists will have this iconic status 50 years from now. Another great track GP. Is Bagpuss in a huff?
This was when Quo were very much on the top of their game. Their previous album to this one, 'Hello!', is arguably their best, but this follow-up from 1974 comes pretty close! If you like this closing track, (which was always a bit of a tradition where it tended to be the longest one to finish the album), then you'll probably also like the first 2 which run from one into the other. Namely, 'Backwater', and, 'Just Take Me.' Both sang by Alan Lancaster, who generally didn't sing all that many songs on the albums, compared to Mssrs. Rossi and Parfitt. Quo were one of only a few bands who had 3 singers. The only other one I can think of off the top of my head is Queen. 'Slow Train', from this album is a belter of a closing track, for sure. I love the melodic, 'jig', part, then the drum solo before it goes full-on with the signature Quo sound at the end. Fantastic song. If you want a sample of, 'early', Quo, then you could try something off the Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon album. 'Junior's Wailing', 'Shy Fly', or, 'Spinning Wheel Blues', as examples. That album was the first of theirs were they got into the whole boogie rock scene. Previously, they played what they were told to play in order to become, 'famous', and, 'pop stars.' Something that appealed to them for 5 minutes before wanting to actually play stuff they wanted to play, not to mention dress down from frilly shirt to jeans and t-shirts. Having long hair was a prerequisite, of course, in those days!
Wow thanks for this, one of the first albums I ever bought at the age of 12.. lol. Status Quo, Nazareth and Iron maiden, so many memories from the 70/80s. My interest in rock and metal music has been recently revived by a band that buy Western metal norms? Shouldn't exist? All female, Japanese, dress in white, no tattoos, positive messages, and quite possibly the most talented musiciens l have ever heard. The band name is Lovebites And they have over 60 songs. Their live performances are out of this world. Listening to you break down this classic, l would love to see you react to one of their masterpieces called A frozen serenade, the live version. It is a musical journey like no other.. Best wishes to you from France 🤘🇨🇵
Great reaction. I'd like to see you react to the song 'Blue Eyed Lady' from the 'Hello' album, 1973. The intro goes through about 4 transitions before the song proper starts. Classic Quo.
Quo did a few concept type tracks this being the best one. Unfortunately Quo never played this live in full, just a small segment within a live medley they did Check out Someone's Learning & Breaking Away
I love how you can see the complete difference in latter Quo and this Quo. Quo after 1981 were just too poppy, and Rossi just hated doing solos, and the harder Quo. Quo the hard rock band were amazing, Quo the soft rock band, bang average.
Quo make you smile. Which not bad in times of need!! Long live the Quo.
Never listened to early Quo, love this track, will add this album to my list!

The greatest RnR band of all time!!!!!
My All Time Favourite Quo Track With John's Drum Solo.🎼🎼🎶🎶🎵🎵🎤🎤🎸🎸🥁🥁♥♥
My favorit QUO album.

Verry verry good performance.
Close my eyes, I still see and hear it.
First reaction to this one ,as far as I know, so...THANKS A LOT.💪👍😁❤️
When quo were the best band on the planet the frantic four were absolutely class the real quo ❤
Another great Quo tune... drags you in and spits you out .... with a glow. 🎸🎸
My first Quo album.
Mine two... great dog heads thinkalike!
From 1971 to 1978 they were at their best, Dog of two head, Piledriver, Hello, Quo, On the level, Blue for you, Live, throw in Whatever you want as the weakest....
Brilliant reaction on a brilliant band. 👏
A genuine reaction if i ever heard one. Well done|||
love your selection of music , and your reactions
Thank you.
Great to see an honest reaction to Quo🎉
One of the best songs from the best album by the best band - at least back in their '70's hayday 🤘

I totally agree, that was Quo at their best.
The so called 3chord wonders, 11 on this track
Read once the book Status Quo: Mighty Innovators of 70s Rock by Andrew L. Cope. He cleans up the myths. 😂
Only "music snobs" talked about 3 chords. They never said that about The Doors, CCR, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry etc etc

Top Class. So happy to see you enjoying this. Quality Band. :) Big Up !!

Luv bagpuss on the shelf ...very 70s!
I'm always wondering if it gets up to no good when I'm not there... 🙂
@gpreactions3194 Well, he does have magical powers, so you never know, dear old bagpuss!
The Frantic Four At Their Very Best.

The first part of those “volleys” reminded of the ending volleys of the Eagles James Dean.
Just brilliant...such brilliant musicians...only 3 cords but what you can do..
😂
The three chord story is actually a myth.
But Tony Visconti once said 3 chords is all you need.
they actually play up to 6 chords from time to time four five chord a lot
Often said they only ever used 3 chords :)...you just have to admire a band that went on as long as they did.
Quite a lot of these different 3 chords in here 😂
Shame it was never played live.
Talking about trains, what about Railroad from Dog of two heads?
I love how you can see the complete difference in latter Quo and this Quo. Quo after 1981 were just too poppy, and Rossi just hated doing solos, and the harder Quo. Quo the hard rock band were amazing, Quo the soft rock band, bang average.
Status Quo and then Panto Quo…
Please react to. Closest thing to Heaven by Tears for fears, music video request plz ❤😊
