Imagine if he had been able to get close to Starro so the dots traveled up Starro's leg into its body, instead of just going through part of one leg. Each dot disintegrating/burning Starro's flesh as it traveled

I feel like we've reached a point in live action comic book adaptations where no character is too weird or "comic book-y" to work. This movie took an obscure Batman villain who was an absolute joke even by Silver-Age standards and made him into an amazingly deep and sympathetic character, and even turned his gimmick into a pretty awesome power.
2:43 I like how Rick asked about his siblings knowing that it's awful that for children being used and experimented as gimme pigs, which did part later in the movie when confronting Peacemaker about the truth of Project Starfish.
In the original script they planned to kill Ratcatcher instead, but they felt that her story needed more, and Polka Dot Man had completed his story, so they killed him off instead.

God the tone balancing in this movie is incredible. Love how the mom stuff is funny but also so deeply tragic. In any other movie Polka Dot man would have been a one off comedic character, but here he commands so much empathy from the audience. His death would be treated as a comedic scene in a marvel movie, but here it’s so well done and actually feels grim.
Fuck his death scene, I wanted to see a whole series on just this character. I wanted him to get over his illness and redeem himself more than just a scene.

I love the character work in the suicide squad I think the biggest problem in the movie is that sometimes james gunn has to much freedom and he just can't keep himself from putting a joke where it doesn't belong like the "where is your mom now?" it would've been such a better scene if it didn't cut to a joke showing exactly how sinister of a mark she left on him. in the end his character was very serious but to often he was played for a laughs and it made his death a lot weaker in comparison (also him dying was a very big cop out because realistically he is the only one capable of damaging starro). If I directed the movie I would've made him run and be scared of starro and at the end of the fight with ratcachter making starro ocuppied bloodsport would tell him that starro was his mom and make him finish the fight
Fun fact: the actor that plays polka dot man has a skin condition in which different skin spots appear on his body making them look like Polka dots. He's got them on his arms. And his nickname growing up, via bullying, was polkadot man.
Pretty intresting facts dude, however I wish we could get a solo movie or tv series that would've taken place before The Suicide Squad movie to learn/know more about him, for all we know IF they made a solo move or tv series about Polka Dot Man then he would fit well as a anti hero were he saves live of the innocents while he kills the bad people like murderers, rapists, etc. That would be awesome if they ever did!!
