    I use to be the a 1 to 2 week quarantine person.... But the more expensive my fish room got the longer the quarantine process has become.... A month is about right if you have big money in your fish room... Good stuff brother

    Hey buddy 90days I think is fine got to love the haters keep up the great work and advice I been keeping Discus for about 20years and still trip myself sometimes sending support from Australia 🇦🇺

      I appreciate your support and it is less 2% hate which is pretty low on UA-cam. I love having debates or disagreements so I don't consider that a problem at all. Most people are 👍. Thank you so much for your comment it means a lot to me🙏

    Nice.
    One suggestion sir what will be the outcome of a cross between snowhite and german red pearl discus!!
    Thanks

    • @shelleraquatics
      @shelleraquatics  7 місяців тому

      Most likely a mix leaning towards the red, but just a guess. One positive is white discus are really hard to breed because they do not darken for the fry, the red Discus will usually handle the feedings.

    I just bought a Cuipeua from Myrtle beach too! A tiny 2.5 inch guy though. Also got a 4 inch heckel turquoise cross that is very pretty. I used to buy from Discus madness but I don't love that he cuts their fins. Question: Mrytle beach describes their Cuipeuas as wild crosses. Do you know what they are crossed with?

    • @shelleraquatics

      @fortheloveofhorses5956 the mosaic tiger is a beautiful fish. Thank you for letting me know about Myrtle, it definitely confirms my experiences with them.

    Have you ever experienced stunted growth? Is it ever reversible?

    • @shelleraquatics
      @shelleraquatics  7 місяців тому

      I have experienced stunted growth. It depends on severity. The metric I use is counting 5 eyeballs on the face stripe. Anything under probably irreversible. 5 and up is my personal goal 6.5-7 is optimal for me personally

    Great video… I’m right in the middle of getting more discus , I bought a proven breeding pair but somehow they sent 2 paired female s so now they are going to send 2 males to make 2 pairs , the problem is the same thing happened 8 years ago and they sent me 2 supposedly males but they to were females so I ended up with 4 females that spawned all the time but still not what I ordered, I hope that don’t happen this time … last time 8 years ago they did finally send a breeding pair but don’t know if that’s good customer service Or just that I’m extremely aware and on high alert of scams , but I’m no pro but I do have a fish farm for other species, and I check breeding tubes and have ways to 100 % sex any fish I pretty much know what sex they are after they come out of quarantine.regardless of look s I would not sell breeding pairs unless you 100 % see wigglers .

    • @shelleraquatics
      @shelleraquatics  7 місяців тому

      That is quite a journey, I would say if they are going to make it right I would consider that good customer service. It is funny people come to my room to buy pairs of all kinds of fish and I always tell them to pick a male and female, then they ask how do I tell the difference and the honest response is the female lays eggs and the male doesn't. That usually puts that discussion to bed. I agree you need to see a spawn to make the claim.

    Sorry for that man. I know you don’t take it to heart but wow. I think it’s refreshing to see another look at the hobby and I mean specifically the discus. Something other than, don’t do this , don’t do that! These fish are hard to keep. lol.
    Have fun keeping discus and don’t make it harder than it should. Is what I get from you. Love it. Keep it up!! Always look forward to your vids.
