- Colin Farrell is interviewed for Thirteen Lives, directed by Ron Howard, and starring Joel Edgerton, Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell and Tom Bateman as well consultants with the real life divers Rick Stanton, Jason Mallinson, Chris Jewell. Zehra Phelan asks the questions.
Plot: The story focuses on the real-life story of the boy’s football team from Thailand who became trapped in a cave for more than two weeks when heavy rains partially flooded the cave, blocking their way out.
The film hits select cinemas on July 29th and launches on Prime Video on August 5th, 2022.

@@tomassoukup8527 I've been rather vehement elsewhere online that he should have won an Oscar for The Lobster...and now I'm going to bite my tongue before this turns into a hardcore Casey Affleck bashing, but still...Colin deserved it far more than year, and it would have been lovely if Bree Larson had been able to hand off the statuette to someone she could actually be *happy* for.

As great as he is, Viggo I still saw as Viggo, but Colin almost became unrecognizable to me in this role. Like a completely different person with an absolutely foreign to him personality. Magnificent job.
That's so true! After seeing the movie, I only remember that kind man/Collin"s character stood out from everybody.
Agree! I thought I was the only one thinking this. Ha! But yeah...the best way I could describe him in this movie was...he had such a serious "Daddy" role! Haha Like I'm a "grown-ass mature man about to save the day" type of character. Up til now, I think I've only seen him in kind of sexy rascal/villainous roles. This may be the first I've seen him in this type of character and he was so believable in it!
Honestly I didn't know it was Colin Farrell in the role at first. Totally transformed into another person.
I think it's just the type of guys Viggo usually plays. His character (the diver he plays) is a tough loner, rational sceptic who is always ready to give his honest opinion, while Collin's guy is a family man with a son, who empathizes deeply with the boys and their parents, much more tactful. I think that's just the reason we see such difference in Collin behavior.
