That's why they are spamming the progress-feed with cool new features to compensate for this update. It's very disappointing really, but I hope this isn't the end with good updates as the leaks they did post look promising. Atleast some of the powerups are cool

If it did effected on actual gameplay(like + 2% more cash from farm) or has a overpowered specialty(like get 2 skins per crate) that would consider to be not cooked but since this VIP+ only effect on skin crates rate increase, Chat Tag, Exp stuffs, etc. I think that this update didn't got badly cooked more like kinda cooked well.
To be honest. I think the Subscription was fair. Since they don't get taxed from it, allowing them to fund more better updates. Let's remember that Paradoxum games have merch, selling tons of plushies and sweaters, the reason "we don't have enough money" is bullshit, this is straight up stealing. WHY would they need a "7$/ A MONTH" supscription when other things are going well??? And there're other things they could do better (speedtickets, boxes,...) this is not normal TDS monentisation that I ever known before someone is behind all of this.
To be honest, this isn't BAD. It's not GOOD, but it's not the worst thing to ever come from TDS. TDS has a dev team, and everyone needs to get paid. Considering TDS is actually pretty nice with F2P content and willingly giving it out commonly, the subscription feels more like you're supporting the devs and receiving bonuses like crate luck, 50% EXP, and more. They're also adding monthly rewards to make up for the five-dollar monthly charge, which is a medium price tag for things like this. Overall, I feel like the subscription is more about supporting the developers then being greedy, and to at least cut them a bit of slack.
To be honest, I think that the implementation of this subscription has a real purpose. The developers have been working on this game CONSTANTLY (ex. they released intermediate mode 5 days ago and now we have all these new features + bug fixes + QOL changes), if you couldn't tell. To support the amount of developers employed for this game and to combat the marketplace tax for gamepasses among other things that ROBLOX enforces, I believe this is justified.
VIP+ was to help fund money as Roblox taxes 75% from game-passes and 0% from subscriptions. TDS also has a bigger team now, so they need more money. 25% of game-passes and $50 merch items help, but not everyone can buy $50+ merch but they probably can afford 4.99 a month. VIP+ probably wouldn’t even be a thing if Roblox didn’t take most of the money from game-passes.

You get 100% crate luck increase, meaning you can get better skins and more broken consumables easier. The consumables effect gameplay, and the subscription allows you to get better consumables and gives you a higher chance to get the nuke. This gives you an advantage in gameplay and therefor makes the subscription p2w. And even if YOU don’t think it’s p2w, you have to acknowledge how greedy it is. TDS did not cook, stop coping and accept that. You can still play the game, doesn’t mean you have to lie to yourself and say greedy features like this are good.
The whole point of vip+ is to support the dev team as subscriptions don’t give Roblox any money while things like game passes give Roblox like 75% of the money, and the vip+ just has added features and just helps with progression a bit. Also tower pets are being moved to regular vip, although I do agree with the gambling stuff that’s shit

Ok so, gonna say my opinion about this update. Firstly, we should talk about the consumables, now, i don't see any problem with them. Even if they're using the "gambling" system, its not that bad, you literally get 6 consumables per crate, so i don't see a problem in this. Secondly, the vip+. Now this is something that many people consider a "cashgrab", BUT, Belownatural itself said: "Only buy this if you want to support the future development of the game!" so it's not like you need to buy it, just buy if you want. Also about the tower pets, they are gonna be moved to normal vip. So vip+ is just gonna be something "extra" to the game, not a huge deal. (it's not like if you buy it you get all the towers for free fr) And finally, i really think the developers are paying attention to the community, i don't really see the point of not rethinking about something everyone hated. For me this update was so bad me and my friends quit the game after only playing 1 game. I hope they revert/remove what they added. They also made it a little to easy I’m not talking about like polluted wastelands or hardcore or badlands just the gamemodes like molten was easy enough.
play tdx bc tdx has like no paywall stuff/except like tb skins, but still its just skins, no p2w stuff here, john cared abt his community and made time scaling free for solo matches, thats just awsome dude.. i know tdx might be a bit more grindy but just check the game out. Its really good
they did cook blud. the membership is there as an option to help support the devs. the robux that paradoxum gets is not easily converted into real money and this payed membership along with the plushies and such help support the team behind tds. if you didn't know, paradoxum games has a dev team of 20-30 people. that is a lot of people that need to be payed. plus this is completely optional and only provides small benefits like the normal vip gamepass, nothing overpowered or groundbreaking.

One mistake and you don't like it, Act 3 and VIP+ My god do people have short temper in this community. I played the game on and off recently, and now this update has ruined the game for me, I feel like the once loving and nurturing devs have completely abandoned that persona. All gone. You get 100% crate luck increase, meaning you can get better skins and more broken consumables easier. The consumables effect gameplay, and the subscription allows you to get better consumables and gives you a higher chance to get the nuke. This gives you an advantage in gameplay and therefor makes the subscription p2w. And even if YOU don’t think it’s p2w, you have to acknowledge how greedy it is. TDS did not cook, stop coping and accept that. You can still play the game, doesn’t mean you have to lie to yourself and say greedy features like this are good.

The whole point of vip+ is to support the dev team as subscriptions don’t give Roblox any money while things like game passes give Roblox like 75% of the money, and the vip+ just has added features and just helps with progression a bit. Also tower pets are being moved to regular vip, although I do agree with the gambling stuff that’s shit
For starters, the subscription isn't even necessary, if you buy it, good for you. Don't buy it? Good for you, just keep your mouth shut. Be glad that VIP+ Is the only subscription tds will ever have.

Ok so, gonna say my opinion about this update.
Firstly, we should talk about the consumables, now, i don't see any problem with them. Even if they're using the "gambling" system, its not that bad, you literally get 6 consumables per crate, so i don't see a problem in this.
Secondly, the vip+. Now this is something that many people consider a "cashgrab", BUT, Belownatural itself said: "Only buy this if you want to support the future development of the game!" so it's not like you need to buy it, just buy if you want.
Also about the tower pets, they are gonna be moved to normal vip. So vip+ is just gonna be something "extra" to the game, not a huge deal. (it's not like if you buy it you get all the towers for free fr)
And finally, i really think the developers are paying attention to the community, i don't really see the point of not rethinking about something everyone hated.
I give this update a 8/10, i see what the devs wanted us to enjoy.

they did cook blud. the membership is there as an option to help support the devs. the robux that paradoxum gets is not easily converted into real money and this payed membership along with the plushies and such help support the team behind tds. if you didn't know, paradoxum games has a dev team of 20-30 people. that is a lot of people that need to be payed. plus this is completely optional and only provides small benefits like the normal vip gamepass, nothing overpowered or groundbreaking.

They are literally going to add more of this in the future, such as daily spins and quests, they are trying to turn tds in pet simulator. We have to tell the devs that we don’t like features like these so they know not to add them, and if they need funding, there are better ways of going about that than slowly turning their game into a generic simulator with a tower defense game buried deep under. I may seem like I am overreacting, but the fact that they continue to add features like this makes me worried about the future state of the game, and you should be worried too. We have to express this and tell the devs features like this aren’t good for the game. But the devs seem to not care, they actively blocked their discord so people can’t get mad at the devs there, they knew this update would suck and that people would be mad about it, they just don’t care. Stop acting like the devs are these innocent little children who can’t do no wrong, you don’t know them, it’s ok to let people be upset over an update. They are moving tower pets to a different gamepass or a vip one from the subscription. They are letting consumables be used in hardcore, time tickets can be obtained absolutely free, etc. Do you think they don't care, but they still add those changes for the community? They are adding pvp, the long wanted gamemode, and you think they don't care about us? I mean, if they wanted max profit, they would have another cash grab like some other td games I could mention. Alright so I just want to make a big response to some common things I see. 1: "Roblox takes 75%." No, they take 30% it's common knowledge. 2: "It's Roblox's fault." It is and it isn't. Roblox has had its tax for a very long time and devs account for this. TDS could have made extra profits from other things instead of a subscription, they just did it that way. 3: "The subscription is optional." Yes, that is true, but it's the fact that the compromise for extra money was a subscription in the first place. 4:"It's just one bad update." Yeah that is true but it's really just the implications of the update and the fact now that we know that these new TDS updates are not completely bulletproof. I will admit, I was very angry from the update and that's why I made this video so fast lol. I do not have as much animosity for the topic as before but still it just wasn't necessary. That's about all I have to say and I want to thank yall for expressing your opinions because I do love reading them and seeing other perspectives.

I don’t care what anyone says, but this update isn’t even that bad. Go ahead, scream at me. Yeah, VIP+ is a kick in the teeth for anyone besides content creators, yeah there’s cheap gambling (we’ll just pretend that skin crates don’t exist), and yeah you can’t have your neko dj following you around, but it’s not like this update ruined the game. It was just a nothing burger for some cash that came with an overall decent consumable feature. It’s miles better than overhaul which DID ruin the game for a while. If you don’t like VIP+, then don’t buy it. If you don’t like gambling for power ups, then don’t gamble. You don’t need power ups at all (also, the crates are very cheap. If anything, people like me should be complaining about gambling away 750 coins at a time because we don’t play this game non-stop and grind out 100s of 1000s of coins every week). You don’t need to flex your towers. It’s all optional.
Considering that we’ve gotten back to back well made updates until this one update, you can’t whine about it and say “oh tds isn’t back,” and “oh the game is ruined,” because you sound spoiled.

There’s a fine line between over exaggerating a bad update to the point you make it seem like it makes the game unplayable and simply disliking it. I don’t like the update very much myself, but I’m not acting like it’s the end of the damn world. I also think the update is a little greedy because of the VIP thing and how pets are locked behind it. The problem isn’t people not liking a clearly flawed update, it’s the fact that people get all dramatic and say it’s the worst update in history and that TDS is ruined because of one or two bad features.

Ahhh haters getting mad because tds updated weekly again :( Ik some people don’t like the “gambling” but they’re skins… They’re optional and mostly add nothing to your game (apart from gold crates, but firstly, it’s not real money, secondly unlike gambling when you never win, you will eventually get every reward)… also the new consumable crates give you like 5 rewards for half the price of a basic crate so you can’t really complain about that. For the subscription, they developers kinda said it was more like monthly donation to help them keep making updates. W update if you ask me, you points were kinda weak too
