I know they are married to other people, and I doubt they ever crossed any moral lines, but there is just something special with these two people. They are the only ice dancers that are memorable to me. Just finished watching the 2022 Olympics, and the ice dancing was a disappointment to me. They don't dance much, it looks more like pairs figure skating. It isn't romantic, emotional anymore more. Real ice dancing doesn't exist to me anymore.

Regarding CD, he is divorced and currently " dating" since 2011, Karen Barber Slater? who just happened to be a member of the GBR Ice Dance team in 1984 and who is a member of the DOI team. Since he has divorced twice says so much about his "feelings" for Jayne, but I believe it is "a love that is pure and chaste from afar" ( The Impossible Dream).
There is no doubt they absolutely adore each other, but in the way of friends who have the deepest friendship that they don't want anything to spoil. Maybe because he was so driven - and drove Jane very hard - when they were skating competetively, or maybe that didn't come into it because she wanted the success as much as he did. Did they come close? Yes, they've both admitted it. Did they take it further? No, nor will they, at least not while they can both strap on their skates. Perhaps they can be so close because they're not actually "together", but I doubt they could be closer no matter what.
Be it dedication, devotion, talent, drive, charm, love, intensity, passion -- it is remarkable because it allows us, the audience, to make of it what we will, but it remains theirs, whatever it is.

He is her " blond prince". That was her first impression of him when she first saw him at the Nottingham Ice Center, as she stated in one of their interviews. I am surprised the ice didn't melt when they did Bolero in 1984. It was the most passionate, sensuous Ice Dance I ever saw. I saw it back in Feb,14, 1984 and never forgot it!
