I just watched a play through of this last night/this morning for the first time and loved it. Now I get to wrestle with buying it because I can play it solo! LOL
Yes! I finally had time to watch - lol! Thanks for putting this video out, Markus; I like the look of this solo variant so far - even as punishing as it seems to be. (Bonus: more amazing artwork from Michael Menzel)
@@realjplay Hi, Markus - no, I don't own Stone Age (yet...). I've wanted to get it for years, but my wife doesn't find it interesting. Now that I know there's a solo mode, I may just get it for myself.
I was excited to see this solo version, However now I'm not so sure, it looks to be very very tough. I will have to at least give it a try. Thanks for the play through and the rules link.
Great play through. Can't wait to see how it ends. This looks rough though. Seems like prioritizing getting to 3 workers each and then sending 2 tribes Hunting for food each year is important since the Additional Food card usually is pretty rough, given that until you are over 4 Agriculture, the farm rarely covers how much extra you need and in some cases is always worthless.
Thank you and yes, I agree. I really should have focused more on getting at least 3 dudes for each color (maybe deliberating keeping one color 2 two to somewhat ensure I can take those actions or so).
I love this variant! Great option other than BYOS! I clicked the link and it doesn't exist anymore. Do you perhaps know, Markus, where I might find it? Great videos, as always!
Thanks much! It seems they are having problems with their website but can you try this one: www.hans-im-glueck.de/_Resources/Persistent/6609642d3ab677546d0a2bae5ed94d6bdb350bee/SA_Solo_Regel_ENG%20%281%29.pdf
Thanks for the video :-) Just a question: after each round, do we have to remove all the civilization cars, or they simply shift one position to the right? I think the rules aren't so clear: "DISCARD the remaining civilization cards by SLIDING them to the right"
Thanks, Fabio - appreciate your comment! I assume you are asking specifically about the solo rules (because they work differently than the normal multiplayer rules). My German solo rules state that you have to remove all civilisation cards and replenish accordingly. Hope this helps!
@@realjplay Yes, I wastalking about the solo rules. So, removing all the cards, it means that we have to survive for eactly 12 rounds (36 cards), or 11 if you take the card who remove another one. Right? Thanks again for your videos!!
Thanks for this. I started reading the rules and they were not making a lot of sense haha. According to the rules though, the green civilisation cards only give you 2 extra food when you buy them, not 4. Unless I missed something?
This is one of my favorite games! So glad to see it getting played
Thanks, Paul! Really should have played it more often too obviously :-D
Dude! I'm only 24 minutes in and I can't believe how well you are rolling.
That's all the magic of the my modular building blocks dice tower :-D But I am fairly certain that my luck will fail me sooner or later ;-)

HA! Really feeling sorry for your wallet :-D But you might really enjoy it!

Thanks, Cole (and sorry for the late reply). Do you own the game?

Yeah, not sure if I would get it just for solo but maybe your wife gives it a try then?!

Thank you! But not sure if this standard mode is actually or if I am just playing poorly (I think it's the latter) ;-)
Nice video Marcus. I'd forgotten what a good game Stone Age is. :-) Thanks.
Thanks, Michael - really appreciate your kind comment! :)

Thanks, Socrates and as far as I remember I did this wrong at least once. I may have left a comment somewhere or mentioned it later or so. Good catch!
Yes I just saw it in Part 2 video.
