    The only part that made any sense to me was the phrase "Brazos pido", which means "I request for arms (the body part, not weapons)" in spanish. Other than that, just as you explained, random words thrown together. Excellent content by the way!

    • @AntoniusTertius
      @AntoniusTertius  2 роки тому +9

      The random syllables were shaped in glossolalic style, I explain what Glossolalia is in the Godfrey video of mine. I also explain in my old videos that after the syllables were computer-generated, they were rearranged to make them look like an actual language. The more languages one knows the more 'things' in the randomness can be seen.

    Haha, the whole thing about Dark Souls’ lyrics has been debated for so long despite the answers being fairly obvious.
    Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls 1 both had live vocal groups singing for them, but never could we clearly hear lyrics. Dark Souls 2 was a VST soundtrack, so you could scrap the idea of lyrics, and as for DS3….which was a mix of VSTs and live performances…Kitamura basically confirmed it for us once again. No true lyrics exist.
    It makes sense that Elden Ring would be the same, even if live again. I don’t know why people are fighting this so much.
    Honestly, I think it was because of Bloodborne. It was different, a different production style because of Sony’s involvement. Their apparent Latin lyrics stood out and make more people think that we had been missing out on cool Latin lyricism from day one. It just isn’t the case though.
    Anyway, can’t wait to hear about your research on Bloodborne.

    4:23 this!!! It might be pure coincidence but "Brazos pido" means "arms i ask" (or more accurately due to the context: "I demand arms" ) in spanish! It fits with how godrick is grafted with many arms

    • @AntoniusTertius
      @AntoniusTertius  Рік тому +2

      It gotta be a coincidence because I talked to the person who generated the lyrics and that person told me they exist only to enhance the player's experience and they don't have an overall meaning. It is interesting to notice that in the Godskin Apostles official lyrics, I found some Italian words. It seems the producers kind of mixed lots of languages' words and syllables in some parts. The lyrics were computer-generated after all.

    I love how music can also be played like an illusion. Could sound like anything the composer wanted it to be, yet it could not mean anything at all, but still is a beautiful music nonetheless. In the end, it is all about what we feel while listening to it. I hardly understand what the music means, but I am totally carried away while listening.

    • @AntoniusTertius
      @AntoniusTertius  2 роки тому +3

      Hi, friend Qarl. Thank you for your comment :)
      There's nothing to be understood in the song lyrics, the syllables and 'words' were added only to make the song sound more epic. Music speaks directly to the soul through non lexical sounds. If we swap, for example, lyrics from a happy song with those from a sad song, both songs will still sound the same, the happy one will sound happy and the sad one will sound sad. Music is amazing indeed ^^

    I was one of the players who believed that these themes have lyrics and lore behind them. I was really excited about the "translations" of the one popular account which do Elden Ring songs, cause it was seemed cool for me - to encrypt game's lore in boss themes.
    When I found out the true thanks for your video, I was really angry about that man's work. How easily he distort and mislead players...I felt stupid, especially because I promoted him in my little art-community.
    So yeah, thank you for opening my eyes! I hope more players will see this!

    • @AntoniusTertius
      @AntoniusTertius  2 роки тому +4

      You are most welcome, Дарья :) Sadly, even though lots of articles were published in June about my research, the sweet lies misled and still misleads several people... I already talked to the guy directly and advised him to put "fanmade" in the video titles and alter the misleading video descriptions, he simply doesn't care... There's no problem in making up lore texts, but misleading people is not correct. He already attacked me once and I feel that everytime a person dislikes my videos, it is either him or his minions. I hope he understands someday I am not against his madeup texts, I only disagree on how he presents them to the public.
      I don't have high hopes for more visibility. Some people already know the lyrics are gibberish and whenever they see "lyrics" in my video titles, they misunderstand it. It is as I explain in the video, even though they are gibberish, they are still lyrics, they are sung syllable by syllable by real people, they simply don't mean anything.
      I'm glad one of my ever forgotten videos could reach you somehow. Thank you for being here ^^

      That's curious, the lyrics are a soup of latinish sounds, occasionally forming words in several languages, but overall the whole thing is untranslatable. The Elden RIng music producer who explained to me how the lyrics were made told me there was no deep meaning behind the lyrics, the guy did tell another producer rearranged them. Whether brazos pido is a coincidence or not, one thing I can assure: it is not Latin at all.

    Glad to hear you intend on looking into Bloodborne's lyrics. From what I can tell a fair lot of them do have real Latin lyrics. I reached out to Ryan Amon by email for the lyrics before, and he told me that the rights to the lyrics were owned by Sony Computer Entertainment America, who had not decided to release this information to the public yet. Important to note that Ryan Amon encourages his fans to petition for the lyrics, he is a great dude.
    To me, it's almost as if Miyazaki himself doesn't want the actual lyrics to be released, due to what you mentioned in the Placidusax video.
    I really do pray you manage to find a way to get hold of them, I would love to know what the true lyrics are to Fromsoft's best, in stead of having to rely on people's often completely wrong interpretations. Amazing the effort you've put into all of this, It's criminal that your channel has yet to blow up.

      It is criminal indeed, I was silenced again and again on Reddit and even perma banned from the main Elden Ring sub for telling the truth... The guys there promoted misinformation and fake madeup texts that were (are still) called 'translations'. Sadly if my channel was to blow up, it would have already. Too late now...

      They really don't mean anything (aside from song of lament and the final battle theme whose lyrics were not computer-generated), I confirmed that with the person who created those lyrics. As most of the lyrics were created on the same vocal software, there appears to be some consistency in the syllables as you noticed. You sure this is a real choir? The difference between Elden Rings choir and Bloodborne are so night and day I had assumed they were using vocal libraries for their audio. I am not a fan of Elden Ring's musical suite overall. Though there are some choice entries, mainly from Tsukasa Saitoh (as usual, he's built different) and newcomer Shoi Miyazawa who I really enjoyed throughout. Godrick being my favorite theme in the game. I truly wish they would give Saitoh control of more projects. A lot of the tracks use sampled orchestra and sampled choral elements but not always. It varies, I can point out quite a few of the libraries from the tracks if you are ever curious and which ones feature live players rather than samples or flip between samples and real players. From likes to go back and forth between live and samples based on the game, not sure why (tight budget constraints?). For instance, Bloodborne, and DS:R, and demons souls (original) are primarily all live players with almost no samples. While DS1, ER, and Sekiro are a mixture. DS2 & DS3 are nearly entirely samples.

I just personally think that it adds more into the game honestly. I like the idea of it not being intelligible to us because it is truly a language from another world.

    • @AntoniusTertius
      @AntoniusTertius  2 роки тому +1

      That would have been super cool indeed! I mean, as I explain in the Final Battle lyrics video, Miyazaki likes to leave things as vague as possible so that we (the players) can fill in the gaps with our imagination; so that idea makes sense, though they are not languages per se as I thoroughly explained in my previous videos.
      Tolkien created dwarvish and elvish based on ancient languages he studied, they have strict grammatical rules, they are indeed invented languages; now here we have random syllables and 'words'. Well what matters most in Boss themes is the impact of those sung syllables on our ears to enhance the gaming experience.

    Thank you for the work you are doing.
    I am a small channel that occasionally makes content.
    When doing lore dives. Sometimes I look to others In the community for information they have provided. In order to help learn the lore, connect Information together. Or even compile a theory.
    Sometimes I hear about some noteworthy information. So I follow that lead.
    Only to find, it ends up being a theory based on mistranslated lyrics.
    It's not helpful to our cause. It only creates more confusion. And leads us further away from the truth.
    There is nothing wrong with speculation based in fact. As long as it is explained as such.
    That is how we come up with a hypothesis so we can test it.
    So again thank you. For having integrity.
    And valuing the truth.
    I will try to do the same when making videos

      You're most welcome, thank you for your words :) What saddens me the most is that those Elden Ring lore theories were based on consciously madeup translations... People want to make up lyrics? Okay, but let the others know it is all fanmade at least. The whole Godskin Apostles fake lyrics' lore case started on Reddit, after some friends of the guy who made them up promoted the fanmade work as something truthful, it got really popular sadly, and to worsen things, when I told the truth on that same Reddit group, I was perma banned, as one of the mods was protecting the guy. The whole situation stressed me out a lot, the mods did not allow me to tell the truth, but allowed fake news to spread...
      My channel is small too, my videos reach few people, I'm glad you could find one of them. Many articles were published about magister organi (that's me on Reddit) last year, hopefully they reached enough people,but I doubt it. I'm trying to convince IGN to publish about the truth of the lyrics.

    The songs are still epic, Gael's theme being my all time favourite, but ngl knowing that the lyrics have no meaning does take away some layers of complexity that I thought those songs had.
    Like imagine if in the future Miyasaki said that 80% of Elden Ring's designs were made by AI....ok that's not really a fair comparisson Kitamura is still extremely talented and the music team must've worked their ass off but you know what I mean

    • @AntoniusTertius
      @AntoniusTertius  Рік тому +1

      Sure! Songs don't need to have lyrics with meaning for them to move our souls, such is the magic of music.
      About the composers: it is not up to them to decide whether a song will have meaningful lyrics or not, when the game's production wants lyrics with meaning, they hire or consult a lyricist. Kitamura and Motoi focus on the melodies and harmonies of the pieces they compose.
      After I published this video, I managed to confirm Latin lyrics of 2 Bloodborne songs with a music producer. It seems Bloodborne boss songs got more complexity than other Souls songs after all.
