My whys are: I think scientists should make an effort to learn how to communicate their research, especially if it is publically funded. I think it's a useful way to step back and see the bigger picture my research (or others) fits into. Can also be good practice for writing grants etc. I like the look on people's faces when they learn something new. I don't want non-scientists to think scientists are distant, scary, or non-relatable. It's a bit outside my comfort zone, so a good challenge.
I just found out this video 18 months after it was uploaded. I smiled in half of the video! You've touched my "why" questions, and my answer is stronger after the video finished. Thank you.
I really love this course. Do you think this also applies to how to start a career solely focusing on science communication, but not deciding to become a researcher (with a master already)?
Can you create a video for postdocs who want to transition to an academic position for which they have to present their lifetime research in 20-30 minutes?
Hi! Thank u, this is very useful for my channel. Do u have a suggestion for marine biology videos? I thought about my audience: they are diver, or young people that love sea. How could make videos about marine life? Thank u
Will you eventually be giving demos like the balloon experiment you did on the RI site? I enjoy those "What will happen next? videos. I subscribed and am looking forward to more of your videos.

How far did you walk during this course?

"Some people can do without experts."
We've tried this of late; it sucks. It turns out you _can't_ do without experts; who knew?
so helpful!
