Pricepoint is way wrong, as new the Eastman comes in right at the sweet spot for a secondhand Gibson les Paul Standard. Eastman need to get the price below £1000 because most people will prefer a secondhand Gibson at the £1500 price Eastman are charging if they have a choice.
The quality is way above a Gibson Standard, it's on a par with a Gibson Custom shop. It's hand built/carved and finished individually. The woods and components are also superior to Gibson, not just the gorgeous Ebony fingerboard. I have many Gibson Custom shops and this guitar is way lighter and resonant. There is also no 'checking' because it's finished with violin varnish, by hand. Great guitar. Go and watch some comparisons, it comes out favourably every time.
