I love that they're Danish but perform a combination of grunge rock, American rock-a-billy, reggae, hard rock, heavy metal, and American country-rock...and his voice has that slight "Dane" accent to it. Really love a LOT of this band's music. Thanks for reacting to them, and sharing with us!
It was aired on TV how the crowd at Rock'n'heim 2013 sang Lola Montez a capella though it was released about a month before. It was the first time I heard and saw Volbeat and I'm a fan since then.
You have no idea how much I loved this Beth! Nobody really reacts to Volbeat for a lyrical breakdown, because of his unique style, and hard to understand vocals, but his voice works so well with the banging music. They are one of a few bands that sound better Live, and just fun to watch. I appreciate you doing this one! 🤘❤🔥🤘
I had the privilege of going to Wacken Open Air this past summer (2023) and this video brought me back there. (Every metalhead should go at least once.) I saw 5 people wearing Volbeat shirts, only Volbeat weren't playing the festival, they were on tour in N.America.
Michael, I don't know where you're from but the UK rock radio are so under=exposed to this band. I saw them headline Graspop and my mates hadn't even heard of them. Shame on UK rock radio.
Beth you are truly a gem of the reaction community! Your enthusiasm and break down are a breath of fresh air and I for one love. I am not alone in this feeling. Keep doing what you do oh so well!
He is an excellent vocalist. He started out as a death metal singer in a band named Dominus. Over the years he got fed up with the death metal scene and the band released an album titled VOL.BEAT (Volume and Beat) that was more of a rock album. One or two albums later Dominus split and reformed as Volbeat. Poulsen has done everything from death growls to Elvis to Johnny Cash before finally coming up with his own unique style.
Volbeat is absolutely one of the greatest bands on the planet. The music, lyrics, Michael Poulsens voice paired with the other band members created some really amazing songs. They've also done so many great collaborations with other artists.
Volbeat is such an amazing rock band, i have been a huge fan for about 10 years. I have seen them live once here in Denmark in a city called Aarhus at a foootball stadium called Ceres Arena. And i can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt, Volbeat are as good live as they are on their studio recordings. I can only recommend, for you to go see them live, because they are huge in America. And i would personally love, to see more reaction videos with bands like Volbeat. :)
This was my first concert ever. They opened with a7x for metallica in 2016 which was a perfect fit since a member of metálica is from Denmark too. Definitely my favorite concert of the dozen I’ve seen.
G'day Beth, Thanks so much for reacting to Volbeat, Michael does have a very strong voice without turning to screaming & the mix of music styles works really well
This is ZERO reggae & ZERO rock a bill. ZERO. She's lucky she has sorta an Irish accent , otherwise I'd blast on She's clueless to this GREAT BANDs genre.
I’ve seen them twice and Volbeat have the cleanest vocals I’ve heard live. They weren’t the most spectacular band when I saw them at Download, but they easily had the most polished and clear vocals of the whole festival. Especially ‘For Evigt’
You should check out their songs Die to Live and Wait a Minute My Girl. Those songs really have a 1950s Rock and Roll vibe with a modern twist! Die to Live also features Neil Fallon from the band Clutch
Volbeat took HellYeah and Iced Earth on tour and man, that was some fantastic shit. Always fun seeing someone get into a new band like iced earth, too bad he went off his rocker
Their latest album is great, especially Shotgun Blues and Say No More, but there's definitely some hidden gems in the discography as well, such as Healing Subconsciously, and Dead But Rising. Favorite song: Devil's Bleeding Crown. (Also great live, especially the Odense 2015 recording). But the song you should check out because Michael Poulsen's special singing style on it is A Moment Forever.
You should listen to Lola Montez, the way he sings don't look in her eyes and has a natural vibrato that rolls lo-ok... Dude is a very talented singer and knows exactly what he's doing! He can play rhythm guitar too!
Awesome reaction. I love Volbeat and they're not as well known as they deserve to be. I'd love to see you react to a Canadian band called July Talk. 2 singers with very different styles and backgrounds. Beck and Call also features a Throat singer! Amazing song.
Paulson has one of the best voices in rock I've heard in decades - he's up there with the notoriety and identifiability of a James Hetfield, the attack and intensity of Glen Danzig, and even gets close (close) to the range of someone like Chris Cornell. At least the studio albums - this wasn't a great performance of this song, the studio version is just magnificent, but it was years ago to be fair. On the same album, "Light A Way" is unbelievable in showing his range. Also, "Making Believe" is just great, I can't remember if it's a Social Distortion cover, but it feels like it sure should be lol
Some people call it hillbilly metal, or rocabilly metal, and Elvis metal. who cares ;) It is awesome! Poulsen is a huge Elvis and Jhonny Cash fan. Try dead mans tongue
The first time I've heard it...vibrato makes things sound trained. I love it when it's used in it's place, but it's not the be-all-end-all of vocals. You also said "not rock-a-billy" but more regge ...I'm curious to the explanation of that...i have no knowledge of proper vocals, lol.
Volbeat is my all time favorite band and i LOVE their older songs from 2004-2010. Their newer songs are more pop-like but still good. I highly recommend a reaction to any song from the 2007 tour.
React to their song Sad Man's Tongue. I appreciate responding to live performances, but give everyone their best shot. Respond to their recorded material.
As good as they are, they’re not even that big here in Denmark. Strange. Their biggest hits in their home country are collabs with another Danish band, Magtens Korridorer. I do like them though.
I HAVE AN ALBUM COMING OUT! And I have just realised my first cover on Spotify. Let me know what you think! And follow me on Spotify to hear the album as soon as it comes out. open.spotify.com/track/6qfvKbg6ukHJOGykx2MARB?si=8a2fa85792b14d15
Nice video sister

Lola Montez might be a little overplayed for some people but it's a personal fav of mine. It's just so catchy!!
It was aired on TV how the crowd at Rock'n'heim 2013 sang Lola Montez a capella though it was released about a month before. It was the first time I heard and saw Volbeat and I'm a fan since then.
He IS my fav!
Volbeat is awesome. Love their sound!

WACKEN!!!!
You’ve just expanded my horizons, I’ve never heard Volbeat before and loved this performance. Now I’ll be listening to a lot more, a lot more.
Michael, I don't know where you're from but the UK rock radio are so under=exposed to this band. I saw them headline Graspop and my mates hadn't even heard of them. Shame on UK rock radio.
Check Sad Man's Tongue.
If you catch them live, make sure you do it. They put on a hell of a show.
I’ve been hoping for this for years! Michael has such a unique voice. Thank you for reacting to VOLBEAT!
Some of his pronounciation of words is because he is danish 😂
Svedese no?
@@giogio436denmark Copenhagen
He is Danish
Its hard to talk when you've got your whole mouth filled with porridge 😆 (to us swedes it sounds like it atleast) 😉

Beth you are truly a gem of the reaction community! Your enthusiasm and break down are a breath of fresh air and I for one love. I am not alone in this feeling. Keep doing what you do oh so well!
I am an old age pensioner & I love Volbeat. My son bought me some Volbeat merch. Thanks, Craig. How about that. :)
One of my absolute favorite songs by Volbeat - i LOVE it ❤ I have loved Volbeat since around 2006/7.
And we have another Volbeat fan in the making folks 🖤🪄🪄 Love at first Sight🖤🖤❣️
Litteraly me, the first time I heard them. I was a fan!!
@@Tonyrene02 How could you not...Same My Boy Same..lol 🖤🔥🔥

🤘you have to admire him even more for his versatility when you hear him from the Dominus time
Michael was only 16 , when he founded Dominus 1991! Unbelievable, that he's in business since over 30 years!
Volbeat is absolutely one of the greatest bands on the planet. The music, lyrics, Michael Poulsens voice paired with the other band members created some really amazing songs. They've also done so many great collaborations with other artists.
Best first lines in a song EVER!!

Saw Volbeat with FFDP, Nothing More, and Hell Yeah! in Las Vegas. These guys stole the show! I would love to see them again.
Volbeat is just an incredible band ! Been a favorite of me and my wife's for many years now
This was my first concert ever. They opened with a7x for metallica in 2016 which was a perfect fit since a member of metálica is from Denmark too. Definitely my favorite concert of the dozen I’ve seen.
2:43 you're headbanging in your heart and that's what counts.
G'day Beth,
Thanks so much for reacting to Volbeat, Michael does have a very strong voice without turning to screaming & the mix of music styles works really well
The drummer is indeed amazing in this band in most of the songs.
This is ZERO reggae & ZERO rock a bill.
ZERO. She's lucky she has sorta an Irish accent , otherwise I'd blast on She's clueless to this GREAT BANDs genre.
Just saw them tonight and they sound exactly like the recordings. Awesome show.
Saw them live 3 times now. 3 times I came home with no voice for a few days. What a fucking liveshow they deliver!!!
If you want to see a more rockabilly song by volbeat, check out The Lonesome Rider featuring Sarah Blackwood. Great song!
I’ve seen them twice and Volbeat have the cleanest vocals I’ve heard live. They weren’t the most spectacular band when I saw them at Download, but they easily had the most polished and clear vocals of the whole festival. Especially ‘For Evigt’
They're an amazing band! Very talented!
Saw them 3 times this is the best tune , in my opinion.
Volbeat !!! They are awesome
Starts off reggae and the final riff is pure creeping death homage. So versatile
Hi Beth 👋 thank you for this reaction video. God will keep talking care of you. Be blessed sweety.
You should check out their songs Die to Live and Wait a Minute My Girl. Those songs really have a 1950s Rock and Roll vibe with a modern twist! Die to Live also features Neil Fallon from the band Clutch
Theyre a blast live.
Worth every buck.
Never lost my voice until I went to See them.
Think you should check out at least 1 more volbeat song. He's got such a unique voice and tone.
Volbeat took HellYeah and Iced Earth on tour and man, that was some fantastic shit. Always fun seeing someone get into a new band like iced earth, too bad he went off his rocker

Thanks for the video! I love Doc Holliday, Hangman's Body Count, etc. Such a great band.
You should listen to Lola Montez, the way he sings don't look in her eyes and has a natural vibrato that rolls lo-ok... Dude is a very talented singer and knows exactly what he's doing!
He can play rhythm guitar too!
Love this one live, as an old fart the calmer breaks between moshing are a godsend 😂
Vaya canción fabulosa para empezar el día aquí en México los mexas te lo agradecemos mucho bien Beth 👏👏🍀🍀
His vocal influences are Elvis and James Hetfield. If it isn't obvious. With himself at the forefront of course. A rare talent.
Awesome reaction. I love Volbeat and they're not as well known as they deserve to be.
I'd love to see you react to a Canadian band called July Talk. 2 singers with very different styles and backgrounds. Beck and Call also features a Throat singer! Amazing song.

"16 dollars" and "Pool of booze" are two of the most Rockabilly songs they do.
Hi Beth.. love your videos .. I want to suggest a video, Mon Laferte playing "La nave del olvido".. Regards!
Please react to Keith Caputo (now Mina) singing Annie Lennox ‘Why’ live!
Volbeat is my all time favorite band and i LOVE their older songs from 2004-2010. Their newer songs are more pop-like but still good. I highly recommend a reaction to any song from the 2007 tour.

I think you'd like Cape of Our Hero
React to their song Sad Man's Tongue. I appreciate responding to live performances, but give everyone their best shot. Respond to their recorded material.

Incredible, in next time you could be react to "Number One OST BLEACH". It is one the most epic and beautiful music ever for me. I'll appreciate
The singer reminds me of Glenn Danzig and parts of the song remind me of the Misfits..
