Wow! A beautiful Bell 47! It even has the old style tail rotor blades on it! I thought that they weren't even legally airworthy on the Lycoming powered Bell 47's. It is a good point regarding clean blades. If you are familiar with aerodynamics, anything other than a clean and smooth surface of an airfoil will disrupt the flow of air and actually reduce the overall efficiency of the rotor blades.

My mistake! It has the upgraded tail rotor system installed! It is a very nice example of a Bell 47!

We used to wash our blades with WD40 every two weeks.
