Great video. I found a mower and followed your lead, except I purchased a carb. Mower works great and your instructions were perfect.

My 2014 build 7.25 Craftsman started knocking after the ignition coil was replaced.
I now need to figure out why.

I had a slow fuel leak on the same exact motor. Turns out there was never a gasket installed between the airbox and carb. But that actually probably saved it since it sat for two years. No fuel to gum up anything.

Great video. A friend just gave me one & thanks to your video, I got a few tips on what to look for.
Also, I have watched many repair videos, but yours was the first to use the hand siphone to remove the oil.

Thanks for a fantastic video that explained very well how to do each step. I am just now learning how to maintain/repair things that are not working properly or simply keep what I have in good working order through proper maintenance. This video was enjoyable to watch, clear to understand and easy to see what you were doing. I actually laughed out loud and got a big, spontaneous smile on my face when the mower started up for you! You have a talent for teaching us beginners how to do stuff ourselves!

hello, i got a john deere js26 and i think it has the same engine. i took off the air filter and i rinsed off the case and there was some oil that i could see mixing with the water. I checked the oil and it was empty. what do you think i should do? and do you have a detailed thing that shows how to take the whole engine apart and resemble?

Me thinks maybe the previous owner tried to clean the carb on their own, got frustrated, lost the pin maybe, slapped it back together and put it by the curb! LOL I am curious what the cost savings is of buying all those new parts vs. just replacing the carb? A quick search on Amazon and it looks like you can get a new set up for under $20 and some include the air filter and spark plug. Or is it just the joy of only throwing out what is necessary and re-using what isn't broken? Great video, thank you!

So true... you can find an aftermarket carb for a lot less. It will do for sure. It is definitely a hobby, for fun, and the joy out of fixing things. Thank you very much for watching and feedback

@@cbatilo I'm finishing a carb clean on my snow blower tomorrow, then I'll be tackling my lawn mower. I have been unable to nail down the carburetor part no. though. If you have any suggestions let me know. I have the original manual, but they don't show part numbers like they used to! Grrr

1quart... but pour only half initially. Check the level, then pour more into it (stop at 3/4 of a quart)... check the level again and slowly to top it off.

Buy a new carb on line for $45. Do not mess with working on carb when the whole thing can be replaced for cheap. Just a few bolts.
