Guys, this W300 you got is WICKED COOL!! Damn, I'm jealous!! I'd be proud to daily drive that beautiful beast! It's a pity those gnarly 40-inch tires didn't fit but still, she looks absolutely BEEYOOTIFULL!! I loved watching this video! Thank you for making it!! Just makes me wanna get out there and work on my old trucks!
@@phillipsrundripbubblecompa9232 thanks to you guys I'm fired up again to get out there and show my old trucks some love! I'm really enjoying your videos, thanks for sharing your projects!
most of the first generation Dodge trucks were rust buckets and most were junk in 10 to 15 years. I know that from experience. From what I can see of this one it too will need a shit ton of work and money to make even reasonably road worthy and safe. But actually for the year not horrible considering it certainly was not taken care of much. The only way to avoid them being eaten alive was live in the desert or trade up every 2 or 3 years. I bought a gorgeous 1977 1 ton with a plow brand new in 1977 for $8900. It was a freaking animal. Had it undercoated and kept it clean and waxed. In 6 years I had to have a total paint job with new doors. In 3 more years the box had rusted off so I replace it with a dump box from my dad's old International farm truck. 3 years later the cab rotted off the frame so I pulled the HD 360 and trans with 65,000 miles , gave the rest to a buddy that used the DANA 44 axles for his mud truck and the rest went to junk yard. Similar experiences with an '85 W-150 and an '88 W 250. The fact that I live in the salt belt of the northeast doesn't help but I never saw many Ford or Chevy trucks rot out that fast. Even the 2nd generation Dodges were bad . I know that from experience too. They all would rot out around the rear wheel wells in 5 years. Dodge never got it right until RAM took over from 2010 and on. I now have a 2017 RAM 1500 I bought BN. It WILL be my last vehicle I buy even if the body rots off. So if you see and old guy driving a frame with a seat and steering wheel someday, somewhere, that would be me....
@@phillipsrundripbubblecompa9232 IDK that but a couple of shots from underneath when you were changing the oil showed some pretty bad cancer under there... Any vehicle that sits outside on the ground will just dissolve...slowly but surely. Just like dead people and animals....
I had a 69 D200 camper special. Mint green. White roof. Great drive. But needed a fuel tanker following it. 🤣 . But that 318 just cruised along nicely.
Is that a '55 F-100 I saw in the background? The blue one. I'm so jealous! My very first rig was a '55 F-100. I put a 430 Lincoln in it and man, you talk about torquey!
@@phillipsrundripbubblecompa9232- I would love to see a video on that beauty! Even if it's just a walk-around! Pretty please?! Lol! (Dalton from "Pole Barn Garage" sent me, if that helps!) Lol!
I thin you did well considering the age of this thing plus the fact it sat outside for several years not being used. Nothing is harder on a car or truck than setting around regardless of the make.
great video i have a 1994 2500 4wd 5spd gas burner don't see many of them. also am fixing a 2009 ram 2500 HD 4WD Hemi putting a 1950 cab and bed on it thought would be different
Thanks for watching. It's a cool truck now, but if you knew how many loads of wood we cut and hauled growing up, you would not have liked it so much back then.
I don't like those in cab tanks. Mine busted a leak. Fuel come gushing under the seat. Good job I wasn't smoking. I'd have bought the farm. Took my tank out the cab. Probably be OK if new tank.
guy who constantly smokes grits is the star of the show...makes me laugh my ass off all the time 😂😂

We have a rust free cab Believe it or not, and hopefully, we will get it back on the road soon.

It's a 54 all original but not in the best of shape. We drive it in parades and stuff.

Cool

I totally agree. We got a bunch we got to drag out…

Your audio is terrible, but I like watching anyways.
I'm sorry we bought a mic it was 2 dollars and 98 cents. Guess I should have got the one for 8 bucks. Thanks for watching. we appreciate it.
What happened to the short video with air gun it was hilarious
It's somewhere on our channel.
