You cannot combine any bl with bli
One has to look at the spectrum of the two drugs..whether it will be eficiacious and then there is the question of drug formulation like stability etc

gram neg meningitis can be meningococcal/ h flu which is comm acq, here ceftrioxone works well. However when g neg bacilli are suspected as in hospitalized / immunocomp or neurosurg patients meropenem 2gm q8h is DOC as ceftazidime in india does not work due to resistance, though in some parts of the world it is still effective. there can be resistance to mero as well then intrathecal colistin is added . Fosfomycin is another drug good for Ecoli
