One day their gunnery segerant got the bright idea to let the Airmen run PT with the Marines. So there we go about 20 of us yelling, running, scremaing these crazy marine cadences! All around this air force base and we headed toward the parade field. Where another squadron is set up doing PT on the field in a set formation spread out. With us running tall and looking good, that gunnery sergeant ran us right through their formation and we got the scolding eyes of every airman and NCO on that field! I am a navy vet that has the greatest respect for the United States Marines .
I am a disabled combat-veteran. I survived the terrorist attack on the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon. In 1983 they killed 241 one of us. I survived and recovered the bodies. this may be my last post. I can't handle the memories of digging them out... I am sorry and so proud.

My dad was a a D.I at Cherry Point long before I was born,my mom was a lab tech, when my brother was at MCRD in San Diego my favorite thing was to go with my parents and watch the DI.’s do,their drills and count cadence ,this was superb ,SEMPER FI.

I was in the USMC from 73 to 77. Yes, those cadences were cleaned up a lot for the general public. (In my day, most of the cadences were about women and our nation's enemies at the time.) To me the cadences are almost like singing, like music. This brought back many fond memories.
Hard to be humble, when your the best. Semper Fi Devil Dogs..
