- Guitar: 1947 Hermann Hauser I (tinyurl.com/ope...)
Here's Tavi Jinariu playing Andrew York's 'Lament' on a 1947 Hermann Hauser I spruce and Indian rosewood guitar - an absolutely stunning example of the best qualities we associate with the Hauser name in a guitar in immaculate condition for its age. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.

Blown away every time I watch him, he covers the hardest arrangements by all the classics. LOVE it how he likes to cover an album's worth of Andrew York's music. An Amazing talent Tavi is. Would love to see him sit with York and play some arrangements with him.
Tavi could make a piece of rotten driftwood sound good. Tavi is such an amazing player.
One of the best interpretations I’ve heard! Tavi has a way of making interpretations feel like his own compositions while staying true to the music and composer one of the great things about him, thank you Mr Jinariu
Tavi and Andrew are my favourites players on GSI...
is it just me or is tavi the cleanest guitarist out there? every note is pronounced perfectly
jack hession
Not just clean, it feels like he plays with a much better rhythm than most. It doesn't feel as robotic as a lot of covers. I aspire to one day play as well as he does.
The way I understand it Hauser made his guitars with a basic fan varying the thickness of the top. As a player of many decades these lattice braced and fancy nomex guitars are no better than a properly made fan braced guitar by a skilled luthier. Here is the proof. The voice separation is incredible. What i have also noticed about the nomex and lattice braced guitars a less refined player with a mediocre fingerstroke can get a better sound than a traditionally designed guitar which may be why they are now becoming the rage!! I have an old top of the line Asturius and I hated it for many years and when the day came when I could play with my hands completely relaxed it sounded not quite as nice as this one but somewhat close.if your hands are stiff and you dont get a good clear relaxed finger stroke it sounds more like a banjo. The lattice and double tops seem to need a lower threshold of fingerstroke energy to get a clear round tone and sound. I never heard any with voice sepration as nice as this.
Clean??? His tone is inconsistent. Two notes sound warm and round but the next one sounds like pure nail plucking. One second he's warm and clean and then his tone gets super thin
@@soullessSiIence There's always one of "you" in the crowd.
@@DeutschlandGuy yup.
I've watched Tavi for many years. Never saw this video for this piece before. Enjoyed it.!
Exquisitely sensitive performance. One of Yorks’s best pieces I think❤️❤️❤️❤️
WOW... Jinariu, York and Hauser I... good grief, what a breath-taking combination!!!
Tavi plays from heart with big love to guitar and sound.
That is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard!!!!
Beautiful hands that play beautifully!❤
Beautiful piece of Andrew York and played very well with high clarity by Tavi Jinariu. Of course, also a compliment to the recording technician.
Exactly
I’m in love with the sound of this guitar, I think this guitar will fits perfectly to play slow jazz instrumental music
Beautiful.
I never tire of hearing Mr. Jinariu play.
me either.....
So beautiful.
Divine, marvelous! Thanks for this pure enjoyment of music!
Magnificent masterpiece played by a magnificent master🎵🎵🎼🎼🎶🎸🎸
Excellent and heartfelt.
I think Tavi and that guitar just got married. What a marvelous instrument!
Wow.... It almost sounds like a cedar.... But with the punch of a spruce!!!! Amazing.
Obviously, Tavi's fantastic playing helps to coax the beautiful sounds of this truly fantastic instrument. :)
Usually don't hear the metallic harpsichord bass sounds at 3:08 on cedar.
My god this is beautiful.
This piece continues to haunt me - amazing instrument and playing. The sheet music arrives today!
It haunts me also Terry. Fantastic composition by Andrew York. I must resurrect it now.
Thanks, by the way, for putting up your videos of this piece on a variety of instruments. I enjoy the Cordoba Esteso cedar/spruce one the most - I'm soon to get a C10 and am truly torn between the two options. Perhaps - one of each!
The Esteso models are quite nice. I think you will like them.
Ah, maybe next year. I chose the Cordoba C10, in punchy spruce.
Absolutely exquisite!
Very beautiful !
Thanks Clint.Yes I looked up guitar rest and found them.Thats a great idea.I expect it must also allow the guitar to resonate much better too.I think it would be very helpful to me and help with a little more fluidity to my practice..Great playing byMr Jinariu and also to the sound engineers on these pieces.Thank you!

These Adds are obnoxious, some are worse than others, but Adds are all by nature obnoxious, there is no such thing as a good add!.

@@LFUFMNX Yes I know! No one likes them but we are doomed to endure them for the sake of money, not altogether or necessarily a bad thing, but nonetheless, obnoxious
So beautiful.
