King Jayavarman I (ស្ថព្រះបាទយសោវរ្ម័នទី1) , was an ancient Thai-KHOM king who descended from Siam-KHOM not the king of khmer. The Khmer King actually started as the Taeng Wan King or what Khmer people know is Phrabat Ongchai or King Taengwan (as Thai people call him) was the son-in-law of King Jayavarman Parameswara (King Jayavarman IX) and married Queen Chandravaradevi, daughter of King Jayavarman IX, in the year B.E. 1290 B.E., which occurred 45 years before the death of King Jayavarman IX. The inscription indicates the year King Taeng Wan ascended the throne after the death of Phra Satsura, which is 1336 B.E., but the legend of King Taeng Wan states that He killed King Jayavarman IX in 1336 and married Queen Chandravardevi and became his wife. and himself became the Khmer king to rule the city of Angkor at a later time.
