A Kaveri derivative engine 2.0 is being developed with improved metallurgy. It's still a good 4 to 5 years away even if fast-tracked. We can, however, hope to get around 85 to 90 KN with a full A/B section and a flat-rated one at that.

C295 is a multi mission aircraft. It can be adapted for reconnaissance cargo passenger air to air refueller Para trooper and other civil commercial and defence purposes. Good to have it. Also good work from gtre and brahmos aerospace for after burner in kaveri engine. Waiting to be inducted soon in our tejas. All the testing and and other upgradation should be done ASAP as due to this engine everything is stalled and whole of india is waiting and watching gtre brahmos aerospace drdo and hal. Good work.

I have been hearing about AMCA and fifth gen aircrafts from 2005. But even after almost 25 years we have seen no material development in the 5th gen direction. Now when the world is developing 6th gen we are still stuck with the ideal of 5th gen.

It's not ideal as refuelling being only 9 ton. C130 or C390 medium aircraft is ideal. C295 can become ideal awacs & naval surveillance.
