I’m so happy for you and your wife. The only advice I will give you is not to worry too much about the little things. Instinct takes over and you learn fast what needs to be done. Just enjoy these days and the next few years. They go by so damn fast. Congrats! Raise him or her right - make sure the kid is a White Sox fan and all will be good. Ha!

Having grown up in a strict Christian household, I grew up thinking Dungeons & Dragons players were satanists. Imagine my surprise when I figured out they were just nerds.

I love your point that five years ago you would have seen the trailer and gone "Oh, cool! It's gonna be like Marvel's D&D!" and nowadays the more natural thought is "Oh God; I hope this isn't like Marvel's D&D."

If not for that, Friday The 13th would have had the same budget as The Last House On The Left, a decade later, because Sean Cunningham would have been funding it by himself.

That makes the budget of The Last house On The Left about 11 and a half times that which Sean S. Cunningham would have had to make Friday The 13th for IF he'd insisted on sticking to Victor Miller's rats-in-mouth, getting-your-finger-cut-off-out-in-the-open-without-making-a-sound-that-would-indicate-your-being-a-biological-female clusterF - no Jason jump scare, no Savini effects, no Betsy Palmer, and probably no Harry Manfredini score either.

Saw D&D last night. To answer your question, I didn't notice any reference to the 2000 movie. It did have a brief showing of the cartoon characters, so I guess that is the same continuity.

My biggest concern for the movie is because Hasbro recently sold the movie studio (or the rights to it?) which means they won't get any of the profit returns, which is so confusing for me, it shows they didn't have any faith in the movie, I'm very curious to see how it performs

Honor Among Thieves has no connection to the first movie because it Is set in the Forgotten Realms universe while the first movie was set in its own world.

As for the D&D movie, it was what the Warcraft movie should've been. Never played either games, but I had a lot of fun with this one and I hope they make more.
