    man ur car sweet i have an 88 ltd crown vic that i blacked out all the chrome an wheels but those intercept wheels look good nice to see a ltd not jacked up on big wheel

    • @M9semi
      @M9semi  10 років тому

      Nice you should post up a video on it. Thanks man, yeah i love this look. The wheels are actually the stock ones that are behind the spoke hubcaps and i painted them black with clear coat,the center caps are off a newer crown vic i think and the tires are 235/60/r15

    I found a 5.0 roller motor Out of a 86 mustang! Same speed density setup! More horse power with no electrical work. .smooth motor swap! I'll keep you updated

    • @M9semi
      @M9semi  10 років тому +1

      Wow that's sick and probably a lot easier than a full HO swap on the vic engine. i deff wanna see that when its finished

      got an 1987 grand marquis in North Jersey (got it from Brooklyn in 2013). That Vic sounds MEAN and BADASS. I want to customize my g.m to your specs

      Very nice, i just sold my vic 2 months ago after having her since 97. to get the bad ass sound all was done was true dual from the cats and no mufflers, and it was perfect not to loud and no drone

    Hey! Not sure if you remember me- commented on an older video with this car in it. I mentioned plans to buy an '86-'89 Town Car.
    I ended up buying a CLEAN '89 Grand Marquis GS from my friend for $850. Got some videos of her on my channel! Still needs a bit of cosmetic and performance work though- I'll get on that in spring after the snow melts and I take her out of storage.
    I haven't abandoned plans to buy a Town Car though! Hope to be buying my '89 a stablemate next summer- a guy from the owners' community is selling a MINT '88 Town Car Base for $800. All it needs is a tranny rebuild. It's gonna be awesome.
    Your '86 looks fantastic, BTW! What a difference a quality paintjob makes. Also interesting how you deleted the lower door moldings, and added the wheel well trim. Looks pretty cool, the bright trim constrasts the dark grey paint around it. My '89 Grand Marquis used to rock that setup (no door moldings, just wheel well trim). Until my paranoia of door dings got the better of me, haha.

      I sure do remember you, wow that is a great deal!!...i paid $900 for my vic back in 1997 haha i love it. and for the town car being $800 why not have them both! they are all great cars just that all the ford AOD trannys suck nuts so on the rebuild just beef it up with a badass valve body...i wanna do that for mine but my tranny works fine right now...just watched your vids and it sounds sweeeet with those open headers and your reaction was hilarious haha, makes me wanna get my mustang headers on!!
      Thanks a lot, i appreciate your attention to detail and yes paint came out great but before i sent it to be painted i stripped all the trim off...the lower door trim was a bitch to take off but it really gave it the sinister cop car look and i took the wheel well ones off for a few years but i put them back on and it really ties in nice. haha yeah i thought about the door dings but the risk is worth the reward of its look now.

      M9semi $900 for a mint '87 is a steal. You definitely would be hard-pressed to find a similar deal today! And the '88 is located in Kansas, haha. So I'll to dump at least a grand into shipping. Still a good deal though! And I know what you mean about AODs sucking nuts- the one in my '89 died at like, 72,000. Seemingly out of nowhere. I just lost 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Got it rebuilt with the AOD-HP kit from TransGo. I'd throw on a new valve body, but I'd need to research it more first. You get some big improvements from I've read, so methinks it'll be well worth it! And them open headers are epic sounding, no doubt. :) I'm gonna get the rest of the exhaust done in the spring- she runs lean and has drone at certain RPMs and speeds. She'll still sound epic at WOT and at idle, I promise!
      These are among my favorite cars; I don't have a choice but to be stupidly attentive to details, haha. Model year changes, powertrain info, etc. Always good to check the lower door trim on the Crown Vics and Town Cars- can easily become a water trap. Same thing for the anti-door-ding trim on the Grand Marqs! I got really lucky with my '89. I too was thinking of how a box Vic or Town Car would look with the wheel well trim but without the lower door trim. Might just have to do that to the '88 after I pick her up!

      ***** Yeah i agree... i was thinking about selling it for big profit but i dont think i can let it go lol. Damn shipping a car is mad expensive but it is still a good deal. Yeah the AODs i cant stand how mushy the shifts are but wow one taking a dump at only 72k miles is pretty premature, but at least you got a shift kit in it but no doubt the hp valve bodys are so much better. haha epic is the exact word to describe those open headers...yeah no doubt youll get drones and maybe a headache along with open headers maybe a ticket to lol but it will still sound beast when its done.
      Lol yeah i know what you mean...the cars you love you need to find every thing about them, i do the same thing. yeah the lower body trim is such a rust trap its not even funny lucky i got mine off before it rotted thru, it was surface rust when i pulled it off. its always good to pull it off to make sure you dont have a rust problem lurking.

    Man this thing sounds sweet. Hoping to do the exhaust on my 87 grand marquis soon. Your car looks and sounds great. You left all 4 cats on? N still got a good performance gain?

    • @M9semi
      @M9semi  9 років тому +1

      Thanks bud. My car only had 2 cats and yea i left them and removed the mufflers then installed the true duals with H pipe and got really good results with power and throttle response also great sound. if you don't mind your exhaust smelling you can just cut out all 4 of your cats and just run muflers or cut 2 cats out and do no mufflers

      Holyshit dude way better acceleration and throttle response easier burn outs hard pull on the freeway wit my stock aod and I also swap the computer aswell ..ho motors came with upgraded cams,heads,tune,forged positions,forged crank, 225hp stock lopo had 150hp

    • @M9semi
      @M9semi  9 років тому +1

      yeah wow i'm so jealous lol...i'd love to do a full HO swap but don't got the time sadly so i just do a few bolt ons here and there, but iv'e been thinking about selling my vic and buying a 1995 impala ss!

    • @Sir.AdamsVIII
      @Sir.AdamsVIII 9 років тому +1

      Whatever floats your boat but I don't you get as many heads to turn in my opinion ima die hard fordhouse boy a suped up ltd will out shine a lot of chevys plus! You don't have to worry about emissions like I do in ca so your sway would be cheaper and! You can use your stock harness!,tranny,and motor mounts all you need to do is change the computer if you get a complete motor ..I spent 200 bucks for mines!

    • @Sir.AdamsVIII
      @Sir.AdamsVIII 9 років тому +1

    I wanna coyote swap one. Its only right since everyone keeps Ls swapping the box caprice’s. And this also has same exact frame as the mustang aint it? Should all go smooth. Dont want a super charger or any of that just a bare 5.0 in that thing and sleep on these kids.

    • @M9semi

    • @slipknot5567
      @slipknot5567 10 років тому +1

      Nice thanks man, im getting a 87 and plan on making it an autocross/drag car, im only aiming for 12's at the strip though, still wanna keep it a daily driver lol.

    • @M9semi
      @M9semi  10 років тому +1

      slipknot5567 No problem. Damn that sounds sweet, post up a video with your progress because ive never seen a box body auto crossed...would think that's more of a job for a car like my trans am lol

    • @slipknot5567
      @slipknot5567 10 років тому +1

      Thats why i wanna do it because no one would expect a box body to autocross lol. for now im just gonna do basic stuff. im gonna convert the normal 5.0 in it to a 5.0 HO like the mustangs have which in its self is gonna cos about 1500 just in parts lol than i wanna convert the rear end to a different gear ratio which i dont know which one im gonna do yet than im just gonna do basic suspension. so over all its gonna cost me about 3k in parts just to get it ready so its gonna take a while lol

    • @M9semi
      @M9semi  10 років тому +1

      Yeah that's awesome, its gunna be one badass ride when your done. for the rear end you should for sure do 3.73 gears with the posi rear witch ford calls trac-lok and top it off with a shift kit in the transmission and it will haul serious ass
