Are you referring to VDO Ninja? If you are, yes the software is free.

You really can't ask viewers to (a) Like and (b) subscribe to your videos BEFORE you've shown it to be worth either of those.

Sure he can. He's just getting it out of the way. Pretty much all you tube channels do this both at the beginning and the end of their vids - and it's not like you have to either way. Do as you will with YOUR content, but you shouldn't dictate what he can do with his - especially when you have produced none yourself.

@@eErudius I see - so I mustn't "dictate" to others, but you can to me. Oh, I get. it - its the crappy practice you use on your content-of-others channel, so it must be ok then.

@@rgarlinyc Like I said... you dont have to... but you gotta understand that the youtube algorithm is not kind to content creators nowadays. Nothing will change that fact.
Some creators will be wothy of that sub or like and others won't. But unless they ask, generally people don't.
And... fair point... You want to go about telling people they can't ask... go right ahead. As a content creator myself, I dont mind the asks at the front or back unless they litter their video with it... that's just tactless.
You may know already and just not care, but the point I was trying to encourage you to consider was that being in the algorithm's favor can make or break a channel and thus the livelyhood of some full-time creators. That's all.

@@rgarlinyc also to your content of others... those are called clips and are within free use as they are micro snippets of the whole... also... I dont monetize them... they get claimed for monetization by the rights holders, but they let me keep the vids up.
I do however have original vids and even those I do for fun... not monetization. You didn't even watch one vid, huh? Cause you'd have not heard or seen anything about asking for subs or likes

@@eErudius First you make an assumption that I'm not a content creator myself, and anyway I have no understanding of how the YT algorithm works. When I respond to this, you change your tune to be more contrite - this is the course of actions employed by all bullies I've challenged.
And no, it's not as you claim "that's all" - you were implying that prior to proving anything has value - I must deem it valuable; and two, you opine that I cannot critique anything unless I am myself a producer of similar or equivalent 'thing'.
By your 1st level of logic, presumably you hand over your money as soon as you enter a restaurant or store, before you've seen, examined or experienced any of their offerings?
By your second you imply - to use just a few examples - that I cannot complain my flight fell out of the sky - as I don't run an airline; cannot claim my chicken was badly undercooked - as I don't run a restaurant; cannot call out the choir - whose content you appropriate - as I don't run a business masquerading as a religion.
Interesting to note the Latin root used to name your two channels...
