North Malaita Students Association (NMSA) Mao Dancers in 2019 - Is composed of all Fiji based students particularly boys from our very own ethnic groups including: Baegu, Baelelea, To'obaita, Fataleka, and Lau boys/brothers within the Northern region/part of Malaita Province in the Solomon Islands. Mao dancing is absolutely a very unique cultural way of dance practiced and performed by our forefathers in the past 100 years ago and it keeps inherited to generation-to- generations until now. Particularly, it is known to be a form of entertainment dance style that usually performed towards visiting families and friends during traditional celebration occasions such as feasts, weddings events and so on, to primarily keep the momentum more entertaining and interesting. It still keeps inherited in today's generation, because it is one of our very own pride and identity ways of doing things that makes us unique from other ethnic groups within the other 8 provinces of Solomon Islands.
