Love this band! Great family too. Saw them in concert last July, and will be seeing them again this July. They are involved in all aspects - father Florin Cristea (Papa Liliac) is manager and can be seen doing everything at the concerts; band members sell the merch (drummer Abigail sold me my t-shirt and CD); won a guitar raffle and met the band after the show. Down to earth, humble and incredible. Future of hard rock! I'm 58 and grew up with Van Halen, KISS, Metallica, etc., but now would follow this group wherever they go. Hope to see them some day selling out huge arenas and being superstars to more fans.

Ozzie , Dio , Kurt Kobain,. The beginning of fan interest when Liliac covered Ozzies Crazy Train on the Santa Monica pier live. Then more of us saw their huge potential covering Dio's Rainbow in the Dark on CBS Worlds Best show. From there we have been on a 4 year journey and they keep amazing us.

I knew it was only a matter of time before you got to this one. These guys have stolen my heart and are my favorite band to date. This even being my fav song, I listen to it several times a week. They have lots of great songs. You can go back to some early stuff such as "Chain of Thorns" or "We Are The Children" to see where they started. Or you can jump into their newer stuff, "Dear Father" or the latest revamped version of "Not Afraid" (official music video) [extended version] if you wanna hear how they sound as of recent. They also have a lot of covers/tributes. The covers they perform are top notch. Seriously, they have an unexplainable "luxurious" sound to them that other versions miss. I'm familiar with your "under a musical rock" status so if you decide to check out a cover it would help being familiar with the original. You have shown to do this with other artists you react to so I'm sure it'll be no issue. Heck, I think you watched probably 10 different versions of the "Sound of Silence". The latest cover they put out is an "acoustic" version of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit". My favorite cover they do is Dio's "The Last In Line". But if you want some power and literal punches, then check out their version of White Stripe's "Seven Nation Army". Melody's voice is definitely unique and she's getting better and expanding her sound more every time I see them perform. They are are the children of Romanian born parents that both emigrated to the US as children. Met in High school, married, and gave birth to a Metal Band. This is 18 year old MeloDia. Very young as female singers go. Her main inspiration is DIO. Her voice is continuing to evolve. As for the dress. If I remember correctly, they found it at a second hand shop in LA. MeloDia and Abigail said it looked gross. Momma Liliac worked her magic and made it beautiful again. I love stories. They are fully independent. We, the Fangs, support them for now. Have I heard of Liliac before? I've been following them since about 2018. And I recently bought all their albums. And they're about the release their 2nd LP. (They've got a 13 song LP, a 7 song EP, and 3 cover albums, so far.)
Lilly-Ack? If you get to see their early stuff, on the Pier, the reactions of the holidaymakers, you'd love it. AGT where they managed to escape Simons clutches and stay independant. This family seem to have so much fun, it's contagious. That dress and the 5:08 Titanic moment!
Liliac pronounced lil ee ack is a family band of siblings all can play multiple instruments and do so very well indeed . This song is their only rock ballad to date . They've written around 2 dozen original songs and they have many tribute covers of all the headline bands, some of these are better than the originals . Check out Whitestripes SEVEN NATION ARMY which is definitely better than the original . Melody's voice has been compared to all the raspy female singers you'd care to mention but she is unique and in the future singers will be compared to her . I take issue with your characterization of their covers being better than any originals. Simply, due to the act of creation. This is the most important part of a song as it wouldn't exist without it. This is why, in my opinion, there can be excellent covers eg. Jeff Buckley on Hallelujah. But to compare Buckley to Leonard Cohen's genius is ridiculous. One of the top "UA-cam" bands of all-time is Boyce Avenue. Their covers are consistently excellent. But they have never succeeded with original music. They just haven't had anything interesting to say musically or lyrically. To this point, I would say the same for Liliac.

My thoughts were ..... sometimes the Bonnie Tyler raspy voice. Great to see a whole family doing their music together. As far as I know (could be wrong) they began their career as a band who played covers and little by little they are writing their own music. And Debbie ..... needless to say, great reaction. @The Question Queens: It's interesting. I actually compare her to some older singers, like Janis Joplin. For me, I first heard their cover of Iron Maiden's "The Trooper." While I don't listen to Liliac all that much, I'm always reminded of an '80s Big Hair ballad, similar to something from Damn Yankees or Night Ranger, Journey or Boston. That's where I see songs like Sail Away fall into. As it stands, Debbie, I still will recommend Bloodywood to you. From New Delhi, India, Bloodywood is a fusion of Linkin Park, Electronica, and Rap/Hip hop. I am gonna keep recommending these guys because a few years ago, they saved my life when nothing else would, or did. If not for Bloodywood, I wouldn't be here today. For your first reaction from Bloodywood, I recommend Jee Veerey (Hindi for "Brave One") or Aaj (Hindi for "today"). In either case, Bloodywood sings about social issues, and interestingly enough, after you see Aaj, you could then do a reaction to a lady bagpiper named Archy, known as "The Snake Charmer," who does a beautiful rendition of an Irish pipes song called "Toss the Feathers," which is a song of celebration.

She has that voice that naturally lends itself to rock music. They do great originals like this but do killer covers also. Never have I seen a reaction use "Sail Away" as the first Liliac song. Know this was their one and only ballad - they usually rock out. Pick your favorite Dio or Metallica song, and they probably covered it. For originals, "Mars" live in Cumming, GA or "Vertigo" live. Official videos, try Mystery or Dear Father... so many more. RORH.

The name sounds terrible because you got it wrong. It is not Lilac. It's Lili-ac. There is an "i" after the second "L". Liliac means "bat" in Romanian. Both parents were born in Romania. The father was born in or near Transylvanian.

Liliac pronounced lil ee ack is a family band of siblings all can play multiple instruments and do so very well indeed . This song is their only rock ballad to date . They've written around 2 dozen original songs and they have many tribute covers of all the headline bands, some of these are better than the originals . Check out Whitestripes SEVEN NATION ARMY which is definitely better than the original . Melody's voice has been compared to all the raspy female singers you'd care to mention but she is unique and in the future singers will be compared to her . I take issue with your characterization of their covers being better than any originals. Simply, due to the act of creation. This is the most important part of a song as it wouldn't exist without it. This is why, in my opinion, there can be excellent covers eg. Jeff Buckley on Hallelujah. But to compare Buckley to Leonard Cohen's genius is ridiculous. One of the top "UA-cam" bands of all-time is Boyce Avenue. Their covers are consistently excellent. But they have never succeeded with original music. They just haven't had anything interesting to say musically or lyrically. To this point, I would say the same for Liliac.

For me, I first heard their cover of Iron Maiden's "The Trooper."
While I don't listen to Liliac all that much, I'm always reminded of an '80s Big Hair ballad, similar to something from Damn Yankees or Night Ranger, Journey or Boston. That's where I see songs like Sail Away fall into.
As it stands, Debbie, I still will recommend Bloodywood to you. From New Delhi, India, Bloodywood is a fusion of Linkin Park, Electronica, and Rap/Hip hop. I am gonna keep recommending these guys because a few years ago, they saved my life when nothing else would, or did. If not for Bloodywood, I wouldn't be here today. For your first reaction from Bloodywood, I recommend Jee Veerey (Hindi for "Brave One") or Aaj (Hindi for "today"). In either case, Bloodywood sings about social issues, and interestingly enough, after you see Aaj, you could then do a reaction to a lady bagpiper named Archy, known as "The Snake Charmer," who does a beautiful rendition of an Irish pipes song called "Toss the Feathers," which is a song of celebration.

Liliac are an Independent band of siblings that do Originals and Covers at a very high level.
They are currently aged 15-24, Sam (Lead Guitar) the oldest having just turned 24.
Their parents are Romanian immigrants, kids all born in USA, used to live in California, now call Georgia home.

It's pronounced LILLY-ACK. It means BAT in Romanian. They're parents are Romanian. The father grew up near Vlad the Impaler's (Dracula's) castle.
Never have I seen a reaction use "Sail Away" as the first Liliac song. Know this was their one and only ballad - they usually rock out. Pick your favorite Dio or Metallica song, and they probably covered it. For originals, "Mars" live in Cumming, GA or "Vertigo" live. Official videos, try Mystery or Dear Father... so many more. RORH.
Good point, yes this is currently their only ballad. And a great one it is. There is claim that a song on the upcoming "Madness" album is going to be similar or "Sail Away-esque" what ever that means. Either way, look'n forward to it.

The name sounds terrible because you got it wrong. It is not Lilac. It's Lili-ac. There is an "i" after the second "L". Liliac means "bat" in Romanian. Both parents were born in Romania. The father was born in or near Transylvanian.
