Gregg Allman was a true southern gentleman, it was such an honor to meet him a few years ago after a show in Moultrie, Georgia where we shared a joint with other band members, rest in peace brother(let's toke on in his honor)
One more.. Damn!! Met Gregg in Daytona Beach at a bar I didn't catch on it was Gregg Allman as it was dark and I was a bit buzzed. When he asked to borrow my lighter when we were sitting at the bar. Then he tried to keep it I was like Yo that's the only lighter I got brother. He handed it back then some groupie try's to hit me for the lighter, saying that was Gregg Allman can I have it? I saw the Allman brothers many times and they never disappoint. Gregg, Duane, Berry, and Trucks R.I.P. One of the longest and best shows was at Lakeland civic center Bonnie Bramlett was singing with them. They played damn near if not three hours that night.
@@chanmanthegreat1429 No way these songs cant be replayed the same unlike other bands. Not saying they are bad just saying they were the pioneers for the genre really. Rest in peace brother.
My heart is broken, there are no words to express my sadness Love, respect and peace. You gave so much to so many. II hope you knew how much you were loved and will be loved forever.
I liked his blonde image so unknowing to me then why did he die at 69 does anyone know if his death was any accident condolences to all the Allman family loved his music hanging out with friends too !
Drug abuse including alcohol. He was one of the favourites of my father and I. Dad mentioned he saw ABB in London in '73. I was introduced to them because of a crush at college - her name was Jessica!
Well, one thing's for sure. Savannah, GA, can really churn out the greats. The Allman brothers, Gregg and Duane, are but two examples. But let us not forget Savannah's other native son, the immortal Johnny Mercer. The history of music is incomplete without his inclusion. I would like to know if that southern city has a Walk of Fame, since it has produced so many greats. Anyone?
Although Gregg has lived in Savannah for some years, I'd say Macon Ga holds the title of 'home' to the original ABB. They first got together in Jacksonville Fl.
Greg Allmans music was there for me when my father passed in June of 97 not my normal led Zeppelin or van Halen but Greg Allman god bless you rip from your fans in Los Angeles
I've seen Gregg every year except the Liver year and had a feeling this year with the canceling of the tour, that things were not good! Miss you and...Trouble No More!
I had the pleasure of seeing Greg two years ago. He invited Derek Trucks and Jaimoe up for an encore and it was incredible. RIP buddy, thank you for the influence and the great music
These guys truly are BROTHERS in every sense of the word & for me personally all's I have is great memories when it comes to their music and legacy, like many of you I feel music does mark times in our lives for better or for worse and I can not associate one bad memory when it comes to listening to this band with my Ol Neighborhood Brothers out in the woods ,dirt bikes leaning on every tree , standing around a 50gal drum with a keg of beer over near the tree and The ABB on the radio with cassettes. Lol Thanks for the music My Brother RIP
Damn Lisa, is that how you would define THE greatest talent in music ? As the ex husband of Cher ? Considering Gregg's impact as an American Icon, Cher is but a comma in a long biography.
I'll always find one more silver dollar. Rest In Peace ✌️ Gregg Allman.
