Thought It was time to upgrade my stradic 4000 ci4+ to a Twin Power 5000xg. For light jigging. And was disappointed... Don't get me wrong as far as drag goes its like buttery smooth winds nice but as soon as you put a bit of load on it the reel becomes unbalanced and won't wind it kind of nearly locks up.... Not very happy.. I own a 6000 Stella, 3x stradics, biomaster 5000, 2 thunnus.. And that's just spin gear... This reel is defective... In my opinion.. Caught some nice fish with it, (had to highlift the rod to get the pressure off the reel just so I could retrieve line) but the stradic run rings around it for cranking power..
Inexcusable. If Penn can get it right then Shimano have no excuse. I put braid on a new Stradic 2500 HG-FL last night, and it feels cheap and plasticky compared to my Penn Slammer 3500. Not sure why people rave about Shimano so much TBH.
John Ratcliffe Actually shimano uses better n high n light quality alum. vs cheap heavy penn alum.type . shimano far more high tolarence than penn , penn is ok but not to the level of shaimano nor daiwa. Adrican maasai
it still has the stupid line roller that you can't remove the ball bearing, i had to replace the whole line roller when the ball bearing rusted wait 2 months for the stupid thing to arrive, and it cost like 6 times more than had i just be able to replace the ball bearing alone

The review is of a 5000 reel...Saltiga sizes start at 8000...My tackle shop has just received it's 1st shipment of the new 2020 TP and processing them as I write this...I am getting one next week...I currently own a 2019 Stella SW8000HGC and a 2020 Saltiga 14000XH and will be expecting a lot from the new TP after watching this video and viewing it's other data currently available...Personally, I would not and did not buy a pre-2020 TP and have never owned a Stella or a Saltiga until the new models came out...IMO, the 2019 Stella and 2020 Saltiga are far superior products (esp. the Saltiga) to their prior predecessors so, therefore I am expecting nothing less from the new 2020 TP.

Stella is the best, problem with Saltiga is that they are difficult to maintain, though I think they look better.
