We were on an airplane, flirting and laughing, when a woman started up a conversation with us. She eventually found her way into the cliche that she knew we were newlyweds because of our affection for each other as she told us about her decades long marriage.
Even as i type this, i find myself making a shady face 😩 at her commentary. But she wasn’t alone! We heard this for months that it would fade. And that particular day, as our plane landed, i wrote this song. And ironically, i just finished it a few weeks ago causeeee i may or may not still have a crush on the same guy 🤣 Seasons may change and vibes will adjust but love is an action that you can choose everyday.
I’m sometimes a bit embarrassed that i can’t talk about my husband publicly without giggling or accidentally saying something a lil too 🥵 that i wouldnt want our kid to hear 😬🤣 and on the flip side, he still blushes when i walk into a room. It is what it is 😊 and we’re not newlyweds. So whatever reason people think that joy is exclusive to “new love” - no. Surround yourself with the older, wiser “still in love” couples who show you something worth pursuing in the regular.
