MidnightW0lf 13 Well!!! Hispanic actually means that you are a Spanish speaking person so you can be from Spain or The Americas and if your first language is Spanish then you are Hispanic. And then we have LATINO that means that you’re from The Americas and speak a language that comes from the old Latin language, these could be: Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese sooooooo in this case Brazilians are Latinos but not Hispanic because they don’t speak SPANISH they speak Portuguese
Another fun fact: people from Spain are Hispanic but not Latinos because they’re not from The Americas, they’re from Europe.
Oh and for the record if you thought Latino or Hispanic was a race 😬😬 I just feel sorry for you 🤔

Ok, so here's the thing: She only has brazilian's language knowledge (and english, obv), and althought portuguese and spanish came from Latin, it doesn't mean that the pronunciations are the same. Actually, what everybody here don't seem to realize is that she pronounced "Cabello" as we normally do here in Brazil. The double L are not supposed to sound like an "Y" here, it's just a matter of fact that the culture is different but here we are in such an interconnected era and there's still people that seems to think that in Brazil we speak spanish. It's portuguese btw, and both languages are pretty different, smh, bye.

Camila is Brazilian and we tend to read "Cabello" and say "cabelo" because it means "hair" in Portuguese. Remember, Brazil is not a Hispanic country and we do not speak Spanish. It's not that deep y'all...

It wasn't a mistake. She pronounced it the way Brazilians pronounce it. Camila Cabello speaks Spanish, and Camila Mendes speaks Portugese, so there's bound to be pronounciation difficulties
I saw Camila in the title and I thought it said Camila Cabello so I was surprised when I saw Camila Mendes. But I'm still happy because Camila Mendes is great on Riverdale and Veronica is one of my favorite characters on that show. She looks so beautiful and it's funny how people think her twitter account is a fan account.

Your name doesn't change depending on where the people who say it are from. Countries are irrelevant, that's just not how it was meant to be pronounced, so it's incorrect. Not saying that we should burn her or something, but it is in fact incorrect and it's ok to point it out.
the name doesn't change but the way you pronounce it does, the alphabet around the world is different . In japan or korean they don't have F , so if you say "coffee" in there they will pronounce "copy " same thing with names.

I’m a 100% sure you have just read it in an English way, but I’m Brazilian and in Portuguese we pronounce it differently. But it’s ok I don’t mind it at all. In Portuguese cabelo means hair, and the double L doesn’t change the pronunciation as it changes in Spanish.

I am a Camila Cabello fan myself, riverdale too. However, why bother on how Cami pronounced Camila’s last name? Like, yeah it’s pronounced CabeYo and not with L but is it her fault that she mispronounced it? Try being a guest in a show like this with that kind of pressure one-on-one, will ya?

in portuguese, there is no "LL = Y" only the L sound, and Cabelo is actually a word in portuguese so thats where she takes the pronounciation from.

Actually, her pronunciation wasn't wrong. In portuguese,which is the language she knows, you pronounce "cabello" with "lo", in spanish you pronounce the double "l" with the equivalent portuguese sound of "lh".
