The husband character is a stereotypical lower education, blue collar worker that gets bullied by his entitled, drug addicted wife. Brcause the wife character belittles him, he lashes out whenever possible, trying to reclaim his manhood and/or a sense of respect in his life. Every loss pushes him further into a mental downward spiral.

I was bullied by a kid 3 grades ahead of me and about twice my size in second grade. Yes a fifth grader picking on a second grader, I could always out run him but one day I got sick of running, turned around and tripped the big bastard. He fell to the ground and compound fracture on his forearm. Same teachers who wouldn’t stop him wanted me to apologize to him and his parents I refused and was suspended for a week in elementary school. Bully never looked in my direction again and also never bullied other kids. Parents need to teach kids to stand up for themselves. Don’t start the fight but finish it as always defend yourself no one else will.

In my algebra class in high school I had a classmate named Kenny, he was lanky and quiet, he was picked on by another kid who was twice his size, I remember the day Kenny had enough.
Told the bully to shut up and leave him alone and if he didn’t he was going to regret it. Bully said why don’t you come here and make me shut up.
Kenny got up and walked over and as bully was getting up, he hit him with two right crosses, the first one dazed him and the second one knocked him out.
Our teacher said, “well it’s about time, now go to the principals office and I’ll call nurse to call 911”.

True. I knew a guy back in the day who was one of Norway’s best boxers. Impossible to see it just looking at him. That brought him into trouble when he for a short period worked as a bouncer at a dubious place. Or more like-it brought other half-drunk ppl into unnecessary trouble making a move on a guy that is lean as a telephone pole, apparently thinkin he cant be much.

They had the guy under control and still felt the need to assault the guy. Situations like that wind up charges dismissed or dropped. Even when clearly guy needed arrested and charged. Once you have a suspect in custody any extra curricular activities from law enforcement should stop. Another thing the guy who hit Jimmy did not press for charges to be filed nor have him arrested.

@@bloodybones63 When my family moved to the burbs of Chicago from the Bay Area back in 69 I found myself in the position of getting beaten up every day by a group of bullies in 7th grade. There were always 6 to 7 of them, and the school administrators refused to do anything about it. My father, who was teaching me to box, tried to convince me that I should figure out who the ringleader was and just deck the guy. When I pointed out that the other 6 would just beat me even worse, he said, yeah, that’s true, but if it costs the ring leader a bloody nose every time then sooner or later he will stop. I told him I didn’t want to solve this problem by becoming MORE like the guys who were beating me up. So My dad gave up. My mother then told me there was another way, but it was a lot harder to do. I asked how and She said ‘you have to let them beat you.’ I said that’s pretty much what’s going on now. And she said, ‘no. I mean you can’t even try to avoid it. You can’t cry, you can’t get angry, you can’t react emotionally in any way. You just take it, silently and give them NOTHING. She explained that they are only doing this because they get some sick satisfaction out of it. Out of hurting you. But if you give them absolutely nothing in return, they will lose interest and move on to other things. So I tried that. And after a week of getting beaten up every day at lunch… one day they just stopped. I never had another guy pick a fight with me thru the rest of grade school. I never forgot that and I became very good at defusing hostility rather than escalating it. But I still knew how to box. And later I took some martial arts, But aside from a few veiled threats, I have never really had call to use them. My martial arts instructor was a wise fellow who stated that the best martial artist sees the punch coming and steps out of its path. That’s how I live my life.
Though, I HAVE been sued. And trust me, I would rather take a beating than go thru litigation. But among grown ups, MOST physical fights these days end up in litigation. The litigation hurts worse. Never let anyone provoke you into a fist fight. It’s just gonna help buy some lawyers new Bentleys.

my daughter was bullied several times by a male classmate when she was in junior high.
she was upset, one weekend I took her to the yard, told her if that boy touched any part of her body again, just kicked him as hard as she could. and I taught her some Taekwondo skills, she use them couples of days later.
I was called to school and met his father, we both agreed that's school's fault for not handling the dispute earlier in the right way.
my daughter still practicing the kicking from time to time and that simply scars her boy friend.

That mom on meth was one hell of an actress. She seriously gives the impression that she's jumpy and on meth.

Pick a fight with a person that can kill you on contact. Not a good idea. Stay away from fights, you never know what your up against.

Every father should teach their kids to defend themselves. That so-called mother needs a serious lesson in humility.

My parents always told me "Let the other kid hit you first. After that, you can hit second, third, fourth, fifth, and so on."

I like how the school psychologist just gives out students medical history to unrelated adults.
