This particular operation is still working but it's now the only one left in China and, sadly, it's in Xinjiang Province which is becoming increasingly like one huge prison camp where the Uighur population are persecuted by the Chinese authorities .... Andy
@@AndyDandanFisherSteam its sad the way governments treat its citizens and they spoil it for people who would pay to come and see the spectacle these places present
@@francisbarrington1756 - The irony, Francis, is that it's only the wicked way that the Uighurs are being treated that is keeping the steam alive at Sandaoling. The area is being starved of government investment and so the old technologies continue here .... Andy
As a track engineer I would have to say that this track is a whole lot better maintained than shown by you from 2012 at the same mine, the 0-8-0 steam train @rude, and Xingyang Brickworks. From the telephoto shots along the track there is not much in the way of joint drop or side to side crosslevel problems which would create the problems you talk about. I have seen a lot of track worse maintained than this. Considering that this is just a part of moving coal, I think that this is a very good operation under the circumstances with the condition that this operation is to be shut down in a matter of months or couple of years.
love the sound , alkaseltzer n, alkaseltzer ,, alkaseltzer . with the loco working hard.(alkaseltzer is a over the counter medication for colds and the flu available in usa, , alkaseltzer used steam train sounds on one of its oldstyle radio adverts a long time ago) glad to see the mine still using steam traction.
We have had Alkaseltzer in the UK but I thought it was for indigestion ! We were never treated to the steam sounds ad though (sadly). Seriously, the sounds there are fantastic as they echo around the opencast area. Can't be replicated in video.
so sad that scenes like this have gone for good thank you for capture the essence of steam
